CHANGE IN VENUE

Hello everyone! As the weather forecast isn't looking too flash for Saturday, we've made the decision to move Concerts in the Park to TSB Hub. That way we can all enjoy the show without having to brave the elements ☔

Don't worry - the food trucks will be following us to TSB Hub, so you'll still be able to grab some snacks there or bring a picnic if that suits you better! You'll still need to bring seating/rugs.

We'd appreciate if you could please share the word with your family and friends that we've changed venue, so no one gets lost on the night!

Last Friday was the annual STDC Christmas Cabaret, open to businesses for an end of year work-do or individuals just to get together for a great meal and some even better entertainment.

This year we were treated to Brendan Dooley - Comedy Magician to start the night off with some amazing tricks to get the audience involved and finished the night with Campbell Vibe Entertainment playing all your favorite sing/dance alongs. Plus a great meal from Hub Catering.

If you missed out this time, keep an eye out towards the end of next year for our next Christmas Cabaret 🎄🥂

Another big thankyou to everyone that took part in our Indoor Netball Competition. 🥳

We've managed to squeeze another netball competition in before the end of the year.
This time each team will need to provide 1 umpire for their own game. Get in touch if you have any questions.

The same goes for the Hicks Park fields across the carpark.
They're also not for your motor-cross or golf practice, a lot of money is spent trying to keep these fields up to a high standard for our outdoor sports groups.
There are other places designed for these activities, so please make use of them.

We will try keep this positive. To the idiots on motorcross bikes that decided it would be fun to rip up our ground and wicket block. To the golfers who think its great to use our manicured wicket as a pitch and putt green. To the treasure hunter with their metal detector who decided it would be fun to dig up our ground looking for gold - we thank you all. Thanks for wasting our many hours of work preparing for the coming season. Thanks for costing us thousands of dollars in repair work on top of the rental that we pay to use this ground. And finally thanks for jeopardizing the chance to host early season rep fixtures and show casing our ground to neighboring provinces. The Hawera community are so lucky to have people like you contributing positively to our town. Your few minutes of fun will now cost us many hours of work. We hope it was worth it!
