A big thank you to the Endeavour Centre at Te Paipai O Aotea for the generous donation of carrots for our horses. They were very much appreciated! Ace enjoyed them so much he couldn’t even wait until we got home and had himself a little snack on the way back… clearly I didn’t choose the best place to leave them! 🥕🐴

We’re so grateful for the generosity, encouragement, and community support shown throughout the day. Every bit of support helps us continue the important work we do, providing therapeutic horse riding opportunities and making a real difference in the lives of our riders.

Today we said goodbye to a truly special lady, Maxine Haybittle 💙

Maxine dedicated over 43 incredible years to Hawera RDA, giving her time, heart, and endless care to our riders, volunteers, and our beloved ponies. She was the loveliest soul—always there to lend a hand, share a laugh, and brighten the day with her wicked sense of humour.

Matilda and Lucy were honoured to attend today and be part of her farewell, and they behaved beautifully throughout—such a lovely reflection of the calm and care Maxine always showed around them.

In true Maxine fashion, she even used to ride her own horse to RDA—her dedication and love for what we do was something truly special and unforgettable.

Maxine leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and commitment that will never be forgotten. She touched so many lives, both human and horse, and our RDA family will feel her absence deeply.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Ross and Maxine's family at this time.

We are going to miss her so much.

💔💔 Sad passing 💔💔

Maxine - our treasured life member and long standing volunteer. Someone who you could rely on and who also could add a "little bit of dry humour".
She will be missed. Our deepest sympathy to the family from her "other family" May she rest in peace.
