I would have liked to have got on the microphone to say this today, but there would've been more tears than words and we've had enough rain for a few weeks!
I want to start by giving a very special thank you to Ange and Latif of High Octane Empire. The two incredible ladies who poured so much time, heart, and energy into organising today’s fundraiser for our family. You both went above and beyond, and words honestly don’t feel enough to express how grateful we are.
To every single one of you who contributed, the people and businesses who generously donated or sponsored I won't name you individually but every single one of you your contributions have not gone unnoticed. Everyone who entered your much-loved wheels (cars, bikes, trucks, stock cars you name it!) what a turnout! Alot of epic vehicles I'm stoked you had a chance to showcase. The stall holders who kept everyone fed and watered all day with your delicious food & coffee. Mitch and his guitar (I don’t think I heard him stop once!) great sounds to have whilst enjoying the food, drink and of course all things wheels. And every single person who came down to enjoy the day, those who stopped to give hugs and chats and support thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
To all who travelled near and far to be part of this your presence meant so much. You made today what it was, a truly beautiful day filled with heart, community, and connection and thank goodness sunshine!
Over the past two years, our family has had so many moments where we’ve had to stop and think, “Is this for real?” and not always for good reasons. But today, I found myself having that same feeling again, only this time for the most heartwarming reason imaginable. I had to pinch myself this morning because it didn’t feel real to be surrounded by such love, support, and generosity.
To have been born, raised, and to be raising our family in such an incredible community one that bands together and makes a real difference is something I will never take for granted as I know there are so many others going through grief or hardship of their own. I shed many tears today, just feeling so humbled, loved, and proud.
Our kids had an absolute blast! It was honestly one of the coolest days out our family has been able to enjoy together in a long while.
So to be able to come and join you today (and I probably stayed longer than I should have 😬) my family, friends, familiar faces to complete strangers, it’s something that will stay with us forever.
There's no way I could've gotten through this thank you without tears so if you made it this far well done!
