What an incredible turnout at our self-defence workshop in Cambridge last week! 🥊

We’re stoked to be bringing these valuable skills and knowledge to the wider Waikato region, empowering more young waahine to feel strong, confident and capable. 💪🏽

Keep an eye out for our next FREE self-defence session at the Y in Kirikiriroa on 22 October! 👀

So honoured to have been invited by the Period Puff Girls to support their presentation at the Puna Wānanga Expo at Rototuna High School.

We are SO PROUD of these girls who came up with the innovative idea to introduce free period products into their school to tackle period poverty.

They were the only year 11 and only girl group picked out of hundreds to present their project.

Our rangatahi are really that cool. 🔥🔥

VOTE to be a GOAT!!! 🐐

This week on Equal Agenda, Lucia and Leo were lucky enough to be joined by waahine toa Jah Wheki from Seed Waikato.

We hope you’re inspired by Jah’s extensive experience and mahi in the community led youth space, and her words of wisdom for our rangatahi as the election looms ahead. 🧚‍♀️

Wow. Where to even begin. Our Leadership Retreat held last weekend in celebration of Suffrage Day was beyond special, inspiring, empowering, and FUN 💖

Facilitated by the incredibly knowledgeable and passionate Rhonda Parry from Our Minds Matter, we learnt about what makes a great leader, how to use our voices to make the changes we want to see, and tools such as breathwork to stay calm and centred through it all. 🌬️

This weekend nourished our hearts, bodies, and minds. And most importantly, it brought together a group of likeminded, powerful and courageous young waahine who support and uplift one another.

We are still in awe and cannot wait to see the magic yet to come.

Special thanks as always to our funders who make this all possible. Tēnā koutou! ☁️✨💜

We want to take a moment to acknowledge Suffrage Day on Saturday 19th September which we celebrated in style during our Leadership Retreat. But more on that later. 💜

It’s been 133 years since women won the right to vote.

Our vote, which can easily be dismissed as a given, was a hard fought for right thanks to Kate Sheppard and other allies. 👑

Elections in Aotearoa are happening this year. To honour the courageous women who walked before us so we could run, we urge you to vote.

Vote for the future you want to see. Vote to use your voice when so many are silenced. Vote not because there’s a perfect option, but because there are FAR worse ones.

Enrolment to vote closes on 25 October 2026. Will you use your voice?
