Road trip!

Heather and I (Beth) took a drive over the Kaimais today to visit Rachel from All Skate Tauranga

While there, we got to see her beginner and advanced inclusive roller skate classes in action, and even a Show Skate class, where some brave skaters performed routines on the rink to music.

Participants with a wide range of disabilities - including spina bifida, visual impairment, autism and ADHD - blew us away with their effort and skill. As it was the last day of term, each of them walked away with certificates and new levels under their belts.

HUGE congrats to HMC… finalists in the Community Contribution category at the Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards!

This category recognises businesses whose ongoing generosity has made a meaningful difference to the community or communities around them.

HMC is our co-founder Heather’s PR agency, and it gives 100% of its profits to All Good. Which means HMC - and every client they work with - is helping fund social enterprises that are changing lives, in Waikato, NZ and around the world!

Ceremony is 6 November, and we (Beth and Rod) will be there in support 🏆 Watch this space.

VENTURE NEWS: The biggest-of-big congratulations to Irene Etyang from MAMLO FOODS... who's been announced as a finalist in the 2026 Women Agripreneurs of the Year Awards (WAYA2026)! 🌾

WAYA, launched in 2021, recognises African women agripreneurs who are driving innovation, creating jobs and transforming the continent’s food systems...

Through MAMLO, Irene is revolutionising Kenya’s peanut value chain with a really clever community-based micro-factory model. It brings processing closer to farmers, reduces losses and helps women smallholder farmers capture more value from their work.

We've had a front-row seat to Irene's progress this year, with her being one of our 2025–26 All Good Ventures cohort members. We really can't speak highly enough of her.

Irene is one of 17 WAYA finalists from 14 African countries who will be recognised at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Kigali, Rwanda (where she's also a speaker!)...

KENYA MADE THE CUT 🇰🇪🌍

What happens when empowering women isn’t treated as a side conversation, but as part of how we build stronger food systems?

We’re about to find out in Kigali.

MAMLO FOODS has been named a WAYA2026 finalist in the Women Empowerment Champion category, representing Kenya alongside finalists from Nigeria and Malawi.

For us, this recognition goes beyond a nomination.

It is a reminder that when women have greater access to opportunity, markets, knowledge and the tools to turn ideas into livelihoods, the impact doesn’t stop with one woman. It moves through families, communities and entire value chains.

That is the kind of food system we believe in building: **one where women aren’t only participants, but decision-makers, entrepreneurs and leaders.**

Three countries. One category. One bigger conversation about what Africa’s future can look like when women are given room to lead.

Rachel's venture, All Skate Tauranga, is breaking down barriers by offering adaptive skating classes for people with disabilities and those facing financial hardship.

We're grateful for our friends at Momentum, who look after the All Good Ventures Fund. The fund's investment returns help us to provide wraparound support to social entrepreneurs - like Rachel - as they build businesses that change lives.

All Skate Tauranga was established to remove both barriers. Rachel started it less than a year ago, in September 2025, running adaptive and therapeutic skating classes for disabled people and people facing financial hardship, working with Special Olympics, Parafed and local mental health providers.

You may have seen four new founders joined our programme a few weeks back. Alongside them, we're also supporting our 2025-26 cohort of three for a little longer.

Ibrahim, Sahera and Irene are now just a couple of months from wrapping up their year with All Good Ventures. We caught up with them recently to hear - in their own words - how it's all going.

Here's a little teaser for you. Ibrahim's health-tech app CareLink has just taken a big step forward in Zanzibar. Sahera's Worldwide Sheroes mentoring network is now reaching women in dozens of countries. And Irene's Mamlo Foods peanut butter is on more Kenyan shelves than ever.

Financial giving is woven into how we’re able to support early-stage social enterprises.

We have a named fund with Momentum Waikato Community Foundation, which allows people to give directly to support our work.

Right now, our friends at Momentum is supporting a national survey from Community Foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand to better understand what motivates people to give and what gets in the way.

If you’re in Waikato or anywhere in Aotearoa, it takes less than 10 minutes to share your perspective on giving. You can also choose to enter a draw to direct a $1,000 donation to a charity of your choice. Will you take a moment to complete it?
