Tortuguero has become a place that a lot of people want to go to and many travel in large air-conditioned coaches. Unfortunately the local roads were not made for such large vehicles and when two meet, passing becomes a problem. Here the driver of one coach clears vegetation from the edge of the road so he can drive 'off-road' to get around another coach. This caused much amusement for onlookers.

After a few days in San Juan we took a long bus trip to visit the Tortuguero National Park on the coast of Costa Rica, home to a lot of wild-life and where turtles came up on to the beach to lay eggs,
