Hope you had a wonderful break! We did, and we're back with this announcement of our Auckland Industry Trip happening on 20 September!

We're happy to collaborate with the Commercial Communications Council on this who connected us with one of the companies we're visiting (Mango).

Get ready to immerse, engage, and network with people of Mango Communications and Maia Studio!

While these companies are more inclined to communications / PR / marketing, we're sure that other business & management students can also get quite a lot of insights and insider knowledge on the industry they're operating in.

Yesterday's convo was am-AI-zing! ๐Ÿค– Thanks for coming along and engaging in the rich discussion around AI and the future of communication industry.

We hope you learned a thing or two, or confronted some difficult questions on using AI in whatever you do (including studies! ๐Ÿซข)

Ben Worth & Riley Malin's experiences and thoughts on this subject definitely allowed us to look closer at how AI is changing the way we work, but they also pointed out the importance of discernment on what to use AI for and what to harness or leverage in our human capacity & creativity to bring out the best outputs possible.

Margalit Toledano (our uni's PR convenor) also added to the depth of the discussion by raising the issue on the ethical use of AI, especially in PR work.

Perhaps our fave part was capping the convo with those delish samosas & brownies! ๐Ÿ˜„

Can't wait to see you in our next event: AUCKLAND INDUSTRY TRIP (20 SEPT. 2024 - register now through link in bio!)

With the rapid developments in AI and talks on AI getting our jobs, should we panic? Or should we rather talk about it more, imagine a thriving future for our industries, and work towards that?

Tomorrow, 14 August 2024, the Management Communication Students' Association (MCSA) invites you to a casual convo around AI & the Future of Communication Industry.

We'd love to know your thoughts & ideas forward! We'll have amazing resource speakers to guide us through the discussions: Ben Worth (Waikato Regional Council), and Riley Malins (Avatars Global).

Bring your mates and let's chat! It's a FREE EVENT: mcsawaikato.co.nz/events

We will host another FREE event for our community on 14 August 2024, and it will tackle AI and the Future of Communication Industry. This will be a more casual conversation among us and with a guidance of a resource speaker (to be revealed soon). We see this as a very relevant topic to understand the implications of AI in the communications landscape, and to future-proof our skills in transitioning from the uni to the workplace.

Bring your classmates/friends who are studying or practicing communications, public relations, screen & media, marketing, or advertising, and let's stir up an engaging convo next week!

Yesterday was a huge success! We're grateful to our panellists, Charlotte FitzPatrick and Cushla Carey of Belle PR, Annika van Driel of Seed Waikato, and Olivia Murray of Gallagher Animal Management who have shared valuable insights and practical tips on entering the communications, public relations, and marketing industry.

The event would've not been also as successful without you--our attendees! Thank you for engaging with us with your questions and your enthusiasm to meet fellow participants as well as our panellists.

We would also like to acknowledge our collaborator, PRINZ -Public Relations Institute of New Zealand, and Kate Monahan Riddell, for gracing the event. Margalit Toledano, Waikato uni's PR Programme Convenor, thank you for being with us and for adding to the richness of discussion.

Of course, thank you Ben Woodgates for mentoring the new MCSA Board in pulling off this event, and Emma Wilson and Seamus for your support!

We're excited to bring more valuable events to The University of Waikato students. Stay tuned for updates!

Hey guys! Today's the day and we're excited to see you and our panellists come together! Sharing here some quick tips on HOW YOU CAN MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME with us:

1. COME EARLY - The Board will be there as early as 3PM to set up and would be happy to welcome attendees by 3:45PM. Say HI and secure your seats early!

2. KNOW WHERE TO GO - If you're facing the LED wall at Te ฤ€hurutanga at The Pฤ, just walk to the rightmost side of the hall where you can see the glass doored multi-function rooms. This is where it's happening, Te Kลporลซa.

3. ASK OUR PANELLISTS - This is what this event is for! It's for you to learn from the industry practitioners. So don't be shy and drop your questions through Slido. It's activated as early as now, so scan the QR code & start typing in!

4. STAY A BIT LONGER - We have some free pizza to share! We'd love to know more about you and so do our panellists for sure!

5. LET US KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE EVENT - We have a short evaluation survey that should only take less than 5 minutes of your time. Please help us improve our next events by answering it!

6. FOLLOW US ON SOCIALS - To get the latest from us, make sure to follow us on socials & website! We already have 2 more lined up: 31 July (Changing of the Guard as an official handover to the new MCSA Board), and 20 September (Auckland industry trip!!!)
