Keep Dunedin Beautiful Keep Dunedin Beautiful began as part of the Anti-Litter Council formed by the New Zealand Government in 1967.

The organisation is now known as Keep New Zealand Beautiful, and Keep Dunedin Beautiful is proud to be one of 31 branches across the country. Keep Dunedin Beautiful work in partnership with the Dunedin City Council to encourage pride in, and enhance Dunedin’s built and natural environments. We work to educate the community about waste minimisation and recycling initiatives, sustainability best pra

ctice, and coordinate environmental projects that include clean-up events, tree plantings, and beautification programmes such as graffiti removal and community murals.

These awards are all about celebrating the Dunedinites who are doing the good mahi. We want to celebrate Schools, Community Groups, Individuals, and Businesses who are making Dunedin more beautiful—through sustainability, creativity, and community care. Anyone can nominate anyone—self nominations are welcome!

🌿 What we’re looking for: Nominees who show one (or more!) of the following:

✅Positive impact on the environment (think native plantings, clean-ups, graffiti removal)
✅Fresh, creative approaches to making the community cleaner, greener, and more beautiful (looking at you murals)
✅Sustainable, long-term benefits
✅Community involvement and teamwork
✅Real, visible results- evidence of change!

We want to know who has been crushing it out there- keeping our shared city beautiful. We want to celebrate individuals-that neighbour who always clears the gutters of leaves before storms, schools- running waste minimisation fairs, community groups- doing art and planting projects, and businesses- volunteering for clean-ups. These are just a few ideas, we know there is more good mahi out there. Let's show these people some love- nominated them today!
