With heartfelt sadness, we share the passing of Leo Raymund Nightingale, who passed away on 23 August 2026, aged 82, following a short illness.

Leo was a dearly loved husband, cherished father, and beloved brother. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

A funeral service for Leo will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, 27 August 2026, at Morrisons Funerals, Henderson.

With heartfelt sadness, we share the passing of Sandra Lorraine Townshend (née Hartnett), who passed away peacefully on 23 August 2026, surrounded by family after a long illness, aged 57.

Sandra was a dearly loved wife, much-loved mother, and beloved sister. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A funeral service for Sandra will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at Morrisons Funerals, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson, followed by a private cremation.

With heartfelt sadness, we share the passing of Brecon Carter MNZM, Concertmaster Emeritus of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, who passed away peacefully on 24 August 2026 in the presence of his family.

Brecon was the beloved husband of Jessica, dearly loved father, stepfather, and cherished Poppa Brec to his 12 grandchildren. He will be remembered for a lifetime of service to God, music, his family, and community, as well as for his gentle kindness, infinite patience, passion for teaching violin, and love of golf and fishing.

A service celebrating Brecon's life will be held at 1:00pm today, Wednesday, 26 August 2026, at Holy Trinity Church in Devonport. The service will also be available to view remotely.

With heartfelt sadness, we share the passing of Joy Greenwood (née Kelsey), who passed away at Warkworth Hospital on 23 August 2026, aged 91, following a brave illness.

Joy was the loving wife of the late Ralph for 70 years, a cherished mother, grandmother to 10 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A service for Joy will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, 28 August 2026, at Wellsford Memorial RSA, 1 Olympus Road, Wellsford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellsford Hospice, a charity Joy supported for many years.
