We had the chance to sit down with students at James Cook High School and have a conversation about AI, how it can support their career aspirations while also exploring what it means to use these tools responsibly.

Always appreciate being in spaces where our young people can speak about AI and share what they think about the technology and its impact.

We’re big on AI civics, which for us means helping more people understand, question and shape how AI affects their lives, not just use it.

At we’ve been getting students into real debates around AI topics, not just learning about it but actually forming their own views and backing them.

Today was a first. The whole class ended up on one side of the argument, so Tyrone stepped in to ensure there was a debate. Safe to say, as young people would put it, he got cooked.

This clip is one of the students’ arguments against him. Watching these young queens step into their voice, their thinking and their leadership is something else. That’s what this is really about ✨

We had the privilege of delivering our Beyond the Horizon AI workshop with the Ethnic Leaders Network hosted by .aotearoa A room full of people serving diverse ethnic and migrant communities across Aotearoa.

We explored some of the impacts of AI, staying mindful of the risks while also being open to the opportunities and how it can support our mahi, our families and our communities.

Grateful for the honest kōrero and shared whakaaro during today’s session.
