thnic communities such as Social, education, Health and employment opportunities for South Asian Communities. Our vision is that everyone, regardless of race, country of origin, gender, faith, or ability in the South Asian community be able to live a life of dignity, and provide a safe, healthy, socially and financially secure future for themselves. SANNZ has been working in partnership, creating collaboration, provide culturally appropriate advocacy, governance and engagements to develop active, strong, healthy and happy South Asian diverse communities in Auckland region and in New Zealand. We were founded in 2014 by a group of activists and volunteers gathered in a living room to address the needs of a rapidly growing South Asian community. Over the past 6 years, we have been growing towards building resources to become a fully staffed agency with multilingual staff, that will be representing South Asian countries, and various faith traditions. We have built trust in our community, continuing to provide support to those who often have no place else to turn. Over the past six years, we have served approximately 942 women, men, and children. Some of our services and future services include, but are not limited to:
Serving and connecting isolated lonely seniors young adults and people with different abilities from South Asian origin. Connect and build communities resilience, capacity and capabilities through community development activities. "Empowering Wellness" and well-being clinics, workshops for South Asian communities in their own languages. Bridging the Education and employment gaps and exploring opportunities for qualified, technical , trained people from South Asia origin. Social, Health and Well-being Education including COVID-19 facts, figures and promotion messages in different languages. Ensuring these messages floats and available in every nook and corner of neighbourhood, streets, clusters, suburbs and region and ethnic social media. Creating partnership and alliances with Mainstream and other ethnic services to ensure no south Asian left behind.
Free and affordable Health and Nutrition clinics, workshops and expos for South Asian people, communities who fall off the radar and not funded and non priority of Government services and annual plans. One does not meet government funded criteria. One who they are sick and unwell enough to be eligible meeting public funding criteria to be admitted and receive free service and treatment under public funding
