Wesley & RYZ Centre is pleased to collab with Plunket to offer B4 School Checks which is free for every 4 - 5 year old child in New Zealand.

Plunket Before School Checks Programme offers a free, comprehensive health and development assessment for 4 year olds before starting school to ensure they are healthy and ready to learn. Checks consists of a nurse assessment, dental screen, appropriate health advice as needed to ensure a smooth transition to school.

To arrange an appointment call 0800 104-105.

Clinic appointments are available between 8:30am - 3pm.

SUNRYZ Intermediate Basketball League Competition - Term 2 Edition

Wesley & RYZ Centre were privileged to have the opportunity to attend a competition featuring one of our amazing program partners – SUNRYZ Basketball who operates from our centre.
In total, there were around five schools participating in the Term 2 Intermediate Basketball League Competition with just over 10 teams. This included the development teams that SUNRYZ has nurtured over the years. The schools involved were: Waikowhai Intermediate,Pasadena, Te Kura Kaupapa, Mount Roskill Intermediate (host) and The SUNRYZ development team.

Feedback from parent: “My sons, Oshin and Kenshin have been part of SUNRYZ for nearly two to three years. When we first moved to the area, I sought ways for them to engage with the community and feel a sense of belonging. That's when I discovered SUNRYZ, which has been an incredible program for my children. I am grateful to Coach Ace, one of the facilitators at SUNRYZ, for providing them with numerous opportunities to participate in competitions, even with no prior experience. This has allowed them to learn and grow. I am very thankful for everything.”

Matariki at Wesley 2026

What an incredible day! We were grateful to partner with Te Roopu Kaumatua-Kuia o Owairaka ki Tamaki Makaurau Trust to celebrate Matariki with our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and contributed to making the event such a success. It was a vibrant, family-friendly celebration that brought people from many cultures together to honour the Māori New Year.

Highlights included performances by the Rainbow Dance Team, the Tupufoou Niuean Group, a star-making workshop led by Karla Beazley from Mt Roskill Library, and a lively Bollywood performance by the Wesley Friendship Group. Together, they showcased the diversity, culture, and unity of our community.
