We’re celebrating Marriage Week NZ here at the FamilyLife office…

We’ve published the national relationship survey. Praying for families this morning. Great conversation with radio Rhema today. Sending out resources for some folks running Vertical Marriage this coming weekend. And working on some email content to encourage couples on their growth journey!

We launched this initiative not only to gather data but to spark meaningful conversations that nurture marriages across New Zealand. After analysing the responses, we found some surprising takeaways:

- Effort is universal: Even couples who are highly satisfied in their marriages experience challenges. No one is exempt from putting in the effort to build a stronger connection.
- Money isn't the main issue: Contrary to popular belief, finances were not among the top reasons for arguments.
- Listening > Expertise: When couples seek support from a mentor couple, the #1 "trust-factor" isn't the mentor's expertise, but how well they listen.
