🌟 Volunteer Star of the Week: Les 🌟

This week, we’re celebrating Les, who has been volunteering at our Helensville Op Shop for the last 12 years!

After retiring as a digger operator, Les wanted to stay active, meet people and be part of his local community. You’ll usually find him behind the scenes, sorting and pricing donations – and occasionally discovering something special to buy himself! 🛍️

A huge thank you to Les for his 12 years of dedication, hard work and community spirit. We’re so grateful to have you as part of our Hospice West Auckland whānau!

P.S. Did you know? The purple tool Les is holding is a pricing gun, while the white one is a tagging gun – two essential tools for keeping our op shops running smoothly!

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from the Ernest Hyam Davis & Ted & Mollie Carr Endowment Trust. Their 2025 grant helped fund the salary of Naoki, one of our Specialist Palliative Care Social Workers, so he could continue supporting terminally ill West Aucklanders and their loved ones through an especially vulnerable time in their lives.

Our Saturday Henderson Hospice Shop team love spending their time volunteering and knowing they’re making a difference in our community.

Check out a fantastic line-up of vintage cars and bikes, grab a bite from the food trucks, and support a great cause!

All funds raised will support Hospice West Auckland, helping us provide free specialist palliative care to Westies.
