Care For Families NZ We are a registered not for profit providing free care packs for families in neonatal units, bereavement packs for baby loss or Aroha Packs across NZ

We are always needing donations, everything and anything from small items like clothing, baby wash and lotion, baby baths etc. to larger items like cots, capsules and prams, etc. Whatever prem, baby or children related items you no longer require or feel that you would like to donate goes a long way. Our organization was started when I was still doing home schooling and sitting home the one day lo

oking through freecycle and noticed the alarming amount of posts from parents who were truly battling and were happy to receive anything just to take care of there kids. I started talking to some of the mums and got to know there situations and decided I wanted to make a change, why couldn't people that no longer needed their items pass it on for a good cause? I started with a lovely lady who had a young baby and a toddler and everything in her house had been destroyed by mould and they didn't have the finances to move, so we bought with our own money a cot, change table, clothes, etc. and took it through. She didn't say much and I walked away feeling defeated till about an hour later when I received a txt saying she was over whelmed and in tears as she had never expected a blessing like that, and it was right there and then our organization was born. We were on and off for a while as I got married and tried to start a family of my own which proved slightly harder then expected and after finally finding out we were pregnant with our son and one very long and difficult pregnancy our miracle was born at exactly 33 weeks weighing 1.9kgs. It was then that we expanded to help families with prems as we as a young newly married couple new just how hard and financially straining it could be having a prem. I am so happy to finaly be completely up and running and cant wait to touch many lives as we launch into this full on, and I am truly grateful for and looking forward to all the help from all our wonderful volunteers, sponsors and donors. You dont always relise but the things that seem least important to you can change someone elses life.

Wahoo! πŸŽ‰ We are so excited to share the details of our upcoming Auction & Fundraiser!

πŸ—“ The auction will open at 9am on Monday, 7 September and close at 5pm on Saturday, 12 September.
Then at 7pm we'll be hosting a LIVE Kahoot Game Night on our page! 🎊

Join us to connect, ask questions, have some fun, and be in to win some amazing spot prizes generously donated by wonderful businesses and individuals πŸ˜€

It will be a fantastic evening of fun and connection. We will also have a tally running throughout the night showing donations received via our Givealittle page. Then at 9pm, we will reveal the grand total raised from both the auction and the evening's fundraising efforts! πŸ’™

We Need Nappies! 🩡
Premature, newborn, and infant-sized nappies are urgently needed.
We need 52 nappies just for this week's packs, plus approximately 450 nappies for our Christmas packs and another 450 nappies for the packs in between.
To purchase these ourselves would cost at least $5,750.
We're hoping to run a Nappy Drive and would love your support. If you'd like to help, or if you own or work for a business, school, daycare, or community group that may be willing to get involved, we would be incredibly grateful. Even sharing this post with someone who may be able to help could make a huge difference.
Nappies are one of our biggest ongoing needs and expenses, along with baby wipes. Having these essentials covered would go a long way towards helping us continue to provide care packs to families every week.

Hi to all our awesome followers!

Eeeeee, one of the most exciting times of the year is coming up and you won't want to miss this!!

So Save the date starting with an incredible online auction via Trademe starting on Monday 7th of September and ending on a high note on Saturday the 12th of September with a Live online Quiz night!! 🎊

We did this during covid and the response was spectacular. Our heart is to include everybody, even those that are isolated and feeling alone and this was such a great way to bring everyone together, have some fun and give you all a chance to ask me all those questions you may have.
So we are bringing it back!!
Will be a night filled with laughs, fun and lots of spot prizes along with the exciting chance to see how much we are able to raise for this year's annual Christmas Drive πŸŽ‰

Thankful for my amazing family, friends and the wonderful Duke of Ed volunteers that have helped to make sure we could still get our packs out over this last week, while I've had to have a bit of time off. And thank you so much to all of you sending in amazing donations, I have been so blown away!! I will take 1 more week to get to where I need to be so we can be off and running again, especially as its that time of year where we get close to the launch of our annual fundraiser and Christmas drive launch wahoo!!!

Today marks exactly 15 years since Care for Families began packing love, hope, and aroha into boxes for whānau navigating the intense realities of NICU, SCBU, and baby loss.
To celebrate this milestone birthday, we’re giving back to our amazing community! 🎁
Every $100 donated today we will do a giveaway with wondeful women's, mens, children and baby gift packs to giveaway as well as some amazing goodies as spots prizes for liking, sharing and commenting on our posts throughout the day.
