And that’s a wrap on Term 3!

This term we’ve had lots of wind, a bit of rain, some sunshine, lots of bugs circulating around whānau and a hall with no floor! Despite all of these challenges, our tamariki have still had so much fun. We ended the term with delicious shared kai 🍪

Looking forward to another great term next term! Hopefully the sun will be shining and fingers crossed we’ll be back in our gorgeous hall. We also have the Christmas Party to look forward to, so keep an eye out for details of that 🎄

Despite our hall being closed, playgroup has been busy and thriving this week!

Water play, parachutes, volcanoes and all the usual outdoor play made this week fantastic. Thank you all for still showing up and bringing the vibes!!

Next week is the final week of term 3. As always, we will be having a shared morning tea each day to celebrate. As we won’t have a kitchen, please bring kai that is ready to serve 😊 No nuts please 🙏🏼

A reminder that our Spring Picnic which was scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled.

Playgroup will be held outdoors at the usual playgroup playground tomorrow. Weather is looking fine so we should be able to have lots of fun! If for some reason the builders are there, we will move to Parrs Park 🛝

Hi everyone! I have been told that the builders are not likely to be at playgroup tomorrow.

So… I’m thinking we could run a session outdoors at playgroup. This will mean we have access to our amazing playground, swings, sandpit and all of the fabulous toys in the shed! I will also set up a play area for the babies under the umbrella 👶🏽 We will be able to use the Settlers Hall toilets and kitchen.

If for some reason the builders are there, we will go back to option B - Parrs Park 😊

Thank you to those who came to our Outdoor Playgroups at Parrs Park this week! Between dodging the showers and gusty winds, we had a lovely time.

The awesome water feature was a real highlight and the kids got so creative with how they used it. Some of our tamariki were also brave enough to climb the tall tower and then come down the windy slides.

The swings were also very popular and so were the magnetiles, cars and dinosaurs.

Being away from our gorgeous playgroup really does make us realise how lucky we are to have such an awesome space. Fingers crossed we’ll be back there soon 🤞 We’ll keep you posted!

Outdoor Playgroup next week!

We’re excited to let you know that while our hall is being repaired, we’ll be taking playgroup outdoors next week!

We’ve chosen a lovely spot at Parrs Park that we hope will suit everyone, as it’s not far from playgroup. I’ve collected some of our favourite toys from the shed for everyone to enjoy and there’s a playground, bike paths and lots of space to explore. There’s also public toilets and a large car park close by.

When: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

Time: 9.30am–12pm

Where: Parrs Park, West Coast Road

Look for: The large island mats set up next to the playground

We’d love to see you there for some fun outdoor play and a catch-up!

These sessions will be free to attend and suitable for babies too 😊

⚠️IMPORTANT⚠️

Unfortunately, Oratia Playgroup will be CLOSED from now until 14th September.

Auckland Council came out today to inspect the flooring in the entranceway and have advised that repairs need to be carried out immediately. This means we’ll need to close for at least the next two weeks while the necessary work is completed.

We know this is disappointing news, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience. ❤️

As a committee, we’re currently looking at ways we can fill the gap and keep our playgroup community connected over the next couple of weeks. Please bear with us while we work out some options and feel free to suggest something below.

Term 3 is off to an absolutely wonderful start ☀️We’ve had glorious sunshine almost everyday so tamariki have been making the most of our beautiful outdoor environment.

Our funky playhouse, unique yellow zoom slide, simple but adventurous playground and classic swings have all been highly used in this incredible winter weather.

We have also had lots of little babies join us this term, which is lovely! They have been staying warm in our hall, exploring all of our different toys and resources in there.

Thank you to everyone who has made Oratia Playgroup a special place to be this term!

Term 3 at Oratia Playgroup starts tomorrow! We’re looking forward to another awesome term 🤩

If you’re keen to check out playgroup for the first time, please just pop along to one of our sessions. We’re open every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9.30am-12pm during the school terms.

All whānau with children aged 0-5 are welcome 😊 Hope to see you soon!
