Are you patient & friendly, enjoy troubleshooting, and love working with older people? 💻✨

Digital Seniors is looking for new regular volunteers to join our teams at our Albany, Birkenhead, East Coast Bays, Glenfield & Greenhithe locations to help teach seniors how to use their digital devices with free one-on-one support.

As a Digital Seniors volunteer coach, you’ll support seniors to navigate a range of technologies, including computers, smartphones, and tablets. You don’t need to be an expert or have advanced tech skills — just enough to teach the basics and know how to find helpful information online. The most important part of the role is being able to relate to seniors, show kindness, and explain things clearly and simply. We’re especially keen to hear from volunteers who are bilingual (particularly in English, Korean, or Chinese), as this helps us better support our diverse community — but this is absolutely not a requirement.

✨ Exciting Event for Seniors This May!

The Centre for Co-Created Ageing Research is hosting a fantastic event showcasing cutting-edge technologies designed to support older adults. Created by students and staff from the University of Auckland alongside industry partners, this event will feature:

🤖 Chatbots and conversational AI for companionship and health support
🧍‍♂️ Social human-robot interaction demos
🕶️ AR/VR platforms for physical and cognitive rehabilitation
📡 Sensor-based systems for fall detection and daily activity monitoring

Hot news - we're opening another Digital Seniors NZ hub from next Tuesday (14th April) especially for seniors in Panmure.

If you (or someone you know) are having trouble logging in to your email, running out of space on an iCloud or Google account, or have a new phone but are struggling to use it, then come along and chat with our volunteer coaches. We can help with these things and many more on most kinds of digital devices. The service is free - no booking, payment or membership needed. Seniors simply drop in with their digital device and our coaches provide one-on-one help, so they can learn and explore at their own pace.

Panmure Community Library joins our growing list of hubs in East Auckland
Epsom Community Library, Remuera Library, St Heliers Community Centre, and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei - Whai Māia, We'll be in Panmure on Tuesday mornings from 10-12.
