Our partner ACC is looking for real-life stories from small to medium‑sized New Zealand businesses that have supported employees to recover safely at work after low‑complexity injuries such as sprains and strains.

ACC want to hear stories that showcase:
-how recovery at work made a meaningful difference for your business and your people
-the practical steps or processes you put in place to become a recovery-friendly workplace
-perspectives from both employers and employees.


Selected case studies will be shared on the ACC website, LinkedIn, and with targeted business audiences, helping other organisations understand what works and feel confident supporting their teams.

The Business Chamber and Health New Zealand are launching the Business Mental Health Toolkit on Wednesday 13 May a practical resource designed to help employers better support mental wellbeing in the workplace.

The event will share free tools and guidance for both employers and employees, along with a panel discussion featuring leading voices in mental health and business, including Sir John Kirwan, Dr Fiona Crichton, Simon Bridges, and Mental Health Minister Hon Matt Doocey.

5 Ways To Switch Off After Work

Self-care is vital during times of stress, and you deserve a decent break at the end of the day or your shift. Here are some ideas to help you unwind after a busy day.

Use the time between work and home to transition from ‘work mode’ to ‘relax mode’. Try not to spend your commute worrying about work or making work-related phone calls.

Depending on the length of your commute, you could:
• Listen to music
• Listen to a podcast
• Do some deep breathing exercises
• Read or listen to a book
• Visualise how you’re going to relax when you get home

If you have a short commute, consider spending 5-10 minutes in your car or sitting outside before going into your home. Use this time to breathe, listen to something uplifting, or quietly reflect away from distractions.
