Woolworths Australia the parent company of Woolworths New Zealand has been charged with over 600 cases of price gouging.
What they have been doing is jacking up the prices and then a month later dropping them back down saying they're on special when in reality they are maybe 20% higher than original.
So my proposition is I don't see countdown/ Woolworths New Zealand doing anything different than the Australian parent company. Now been prosecuted by the Australian version of the commerce commission.
The question is when is the New Zealand commerce commission going to look launch a similar investigation into countdown Woolworths. Why hasn't it been recorded by any media outlet in New Zealand.
So this is not just a Auckland problem but A nation wide one.
Because we have so many countdown / Woolworths operations in this city. possibly Auckland would be a good place to start.
