We are delighted to support Sajha Yuwa Chautari's inaugural discourse, "From Relief to Influence: How Can Youth Meaningfully Shape Climate Action in Nepal?", as a Supporting Partner.

In the wake of the recent flash floods, this inaugural discussion seeks to explore the intersection of climate activism, climate justice, and youth leadership in building a more climate-resilient Nepal.

The session will bring together climate advocates, youth leaders, and aspiring changemakers to share experiences, exchange perspectives, and discuss how young people can move beyond responding to crises to actively influencing climate action and policy.

🎤 Dikshya will also be joining the discussion to share her on-the-ground experiences and insights on how we at Nepal Climate Hub envision and advance meaningful climate action in Nepal.

Meet our tenth and final speaker, Biswash Chepang 🌟

Biswash Chepang is deeply committed to social and environmental justice. He holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Lincoln, UK (2018) and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Development Studies from Kathmandu University School of Education (2026). Mr. Chepang remains committed to fostering inclusion, equity, and climate resilience among Indigenous Peoples. His work amplifies Indigenous voices, strengthens customary governance systems, and safeguards traditional knowledge and raise voices against exclusionary conservation practices.
He is currently working as International Environment and Social Safeguard Expert for FAO, South Asia Pacific. Mr. Chepang is also a Founding Chairperson of Institute for Indigenous Affairs and Development, a non profit organisation, registered in 2021. At the global level, he serves as an Expert Member of the Informal Advisory Group on Scientific and Technical Cooperation (2025–2027) under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (C*D). He is also an Editorial Board Member of the Local Biodiversity Outlooks (LBO-3), contributing to global biodiversity reporting from Indigenous Peoples’ perspectives. In addition, he serves on the Human Rights and Biodiversity Sub-Working Group, supporting the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, including Target 3 and National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) processes.

Meet our ninth speaker, Nabin Bhatta 🌟

Nabin is a graduate of the ME3+ Erasmus Mundus Master's program in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy, an interdisciplinary program that took him across four European universities and immersed him in diverse cultures, perspectives, and approaches to solving global challenges. Before Erasmus Mundus, he built over five years of professional experience in Nepal's energy sector, contributing to major infrastructure projects ranging from a 900 MW hydropower development to transmission lines and power systems. An engineer by profession and an explorer by nature, Nabin is passionate about technology, cultures, people, ideas, and the lifelong pursuit of knowledge, freedom, and meaningful impact.

Join us as he shares his journey to the Erasmus Mundus experience, and how studying across Europe expanded his perspective beyond engineering.

Meet our Keynote Speaker, Sumeera Shrestha 🌟

Sumeera Shrestha is a development practitioner dedicated to advancing gender rights addressing intersectionality and organizational development strengthening feminist movement. With over two decades of experience, her work centers on social inclusion, gender and child rights, and leadership transformation. Currently, Shrestha serves as the Country Director at the Childaid Network Foundation in Nepal, where she prioritizes quality education, governance and inclusion. She previously held the position of Executive Director at Women for Human Rights (Single Women Group) and the founder of Gyanbodh Research and Development Services. She also served as charter secretary and President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height for the Rotary Year 2023/24.

In addition to her professional achievements, Shrestha has conducted extensive research for both academic institutions and national and international development organizations. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and discovering Nepalese arts and crafts.

Meet our seventh speaker, Bibek Pant 🌟

Bibek is an interdisciplinary technologist and founder working at the intersection of technology, climate, and community. He is an alumnus of the UNFCCC Action for Climate Empowerment Youth Hub and a Climatebase Fellow. He holds a Master’s in Geospatial Technologies as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar, having studied across Spain, Portugal, and Germany. He currently supports engineering and project management at the Green Climate Fund headquarters in South Korea.

In his session, he will walk you through every step, from discovering and understanding programs to analysing your options and successfully applying, so you can approach the process with confidence.
