Our Summer Programme is still teaching young people digital skills!

Abdulamid, one of our Youth Ambassadors, is teaching another round of Graphic Design Classes. This time, students are learning to use Canva to apply graphic design elements, including typography, colour, and layout, as well as animation and branding.

In their final projects, students will combine all of these concepts to communicate an idea or message visually.

Our Summer Programme is still going strong!

Salamoh, one of our Youth Ambassadors, is teaching another round of Stitching Classes where students learn running stitches and backstitches, and how to measure and cut fabrics to create outfits.

By the end of the programme, every student will create their own apron and gain the basic skills needed to make advanced items.

Building Digital Skills, AHI’s Summer ICT Programme, celebrated the 19 students who progressed from basic computer operations to coding a simple AI switchboard in Python.

Of note was that the lead instructor for the programme, Damola Adetayo, is a 19-year-old software engineer and entrepreneur. He capably conducted the daily sessions, and the young coders were excited to demonstrate what they had learned.

Several parents attested to noticing the impact the intensive programme had on their children and thanked AHI for providing the opportunity. We look forward to seeing the seed planted in the students’ minds blossom and bear fruit.

💭 Need it or want it? There’s a difference.

Sometimes, we convince ourselves that something is a need when, honestly… it’s just something we really want. 😂

Knowing the difference can help you make better money decisions, avoid unnecessary spending, and keep your priorities in check.

Before you spend, ask yourself: “Do I actually need this, or do I just want it?” 👀

Swipe through and test yourself! 👉🏽

Can you tell the difference between a need and a want?

Empowering Women and Girls Through Skills Development

Action Health Incorporated (AHI), with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Nigeria), continues to implement skills acquisition training in tailoring to empower women and girls with practical skills that can contribute to their economic independence and resilience.

Through the training, participants are gaining hands-on knowledge and experience in sewing, garment production, and basic tailoring techniques. The initiative provides a safe and supportive environment where participants can learn, build confidence, and develop skills to generate income and support their families.

The training at the Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS) Daware is part of AHI’s commitment to strengthening the capacities of women and girls and creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

Together, AHI and UNFPA are investing in skills, confidence, and brighter futures for women and girls.

🌟 Breaking Barriers: Zara Mohammed’s Story of Resilience and Empowerment 🌟

Zara Mohammed, a young woman living with a disability, is proving that determination and opportunity can overcome barriers. Through a local pasta production training organized by Action Health Incorporated (AHI) with support from UNFPA Nigeria, Zara gained valuable vocational skills that are helping her take steps toward financial independence.

With her newly acquired skills, Zara is better positioned to earn an income, support herself, and contribute meaningfully to her community. Her journey reflects the impact of inclusive empowerment programmes that ensure women and girls with disabilities are not left behind.

Zara’s story is a testament to the fact that when individuals are given the tools and opportunities to succeed, they can transform their lives and inspire others around them.

✨ Empowerment through inclusion.
✨ Opportunity through skills.
✨ Hope through action.
