The District Governor of RI District 9112, Rtn. Lanre Adedoyin, has shared exciting updates on the forthcoming District 9112 Conference (DisCon), scheduled for Thursday, May 14 – Sunday, May 17, and chaired by PAG Segun Adewakun.

Speaking during a press conference held on Tuesday, May 12, at the Rotary Centre with various media houses in attendance, the DG highlighted several engaging activities lined up for participants. These include courtesy visits, a flag parade, welcome party, gala night, networking sessions, and presentations by seasoned guest speakers such as former President Olusegun Obasanjo, comedian Alibaba, ASBON President, Dr. Femi Egbesola, among others — all designed to create an unforgettable experience for the thousands expected at the conference.

He described the conference as one of the most impactful and transformational ever organized.

Meanwhile, the DisCon Chairman, PAG Segun Adewakun, assured participants that enormous resources, meticulous planning, logistics, and coordination have gone into making the conference impactful, while showcasing Rotary’s contributions in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, peacebuilding, water and sanitation, and environmental sustainability.

*Dear Distinguished Rotarians,*
May is designated in the Rotary calendar as Youth Service Month, a time to celebrate, empower, and invest in the young people who are not merely the leaders of tomorrow, but active change-makers.

As Rotarians committed to Service Above Self, our engagement with youth is not an act of charity; it is an acknowledgment that the future belongs to those we equip, inspire, and mentor in the present.

Every year, over 350,000 young leaders participate in Rotary's youth programmes across Interact, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA), and Rotary Youth Exchange.

These are not merely statistics.They are stories of transformation, of young people whose lives and communities are being shaped by the power of Rotary's vision.

Youth Service Month is dedicated to empowering young leaders up to age 30 and recognising the incredible impact they have on our local and global communities; from the classroom to the boardroom, Rotary provides the foundation for young people to lead with integrity.

The 2025–2026 Presidential message, *Unite for Good*, resonates profoundly with the thene of this month.

There is no more compelling expression of unity than generations joining hands — Rotarians walking alongside Rotaractors, Interactors, and RYLA alumni to serve communities and build a more equitable world. When we invest in youth, we are not only building individuals; we are building the very institutions and values that will sustain Rotary's mission long after our generation has passed the baton.

Interact gives young people the opportunity to take part in fun, meaningful service projects, developing leadership skills and initiative while promoting student leadership and local volunteer service.

Rotaract clubs serve as true "partners in service," enabling young adults to augment their knowledge and skills while addressing the physical and social needs of their communities and promoting international understanding and peace through friendship and service.
