APJHR, as one of the implementing partners of the PeaceGen (Generation for Peace) Project, supported the Montserrado Memory and Reconciliation Session, hosted by WONGOSOL in partnership with the Office for the Establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court and LIMASA.
The session provided an important space to reflect on Liberia’s shared history, acknowledge the wounds of the past, share experiences and perspectives, and promote healing, understanding, and reconciliation toward a stronger and more unified Liberia.
As part of the session, APJHR’s Executive Director delivered a powerful spoken-word poem titled “Let It End in Peace,” emphasizing that forgiveness and justice must go hand in hand in the journey toward meaningful reconciliation.
Through the poem, he also called on our generation to become ambassadors of peace, to protect and sustain the peace that our mothers fought and sacrificed for, the peace they endured hardship and even slept in open fields to defend.

On July 17, 2026, we hosted the Young Women Business Pitching Event under the Roadmap to Justice project, Funded by the The Fund for Global Human Rights and partner YOCEL Community, at the Liberian Learning Center, marking the successful completion of an intensive four-week financial literacy training.
The training equipped participants with practical knowledge in financial management, budgeting, saving, and business planning, while strengthening their confidence and entrepreneurial skills.
During the pitching event, participants presented their business ideas to a panel of judges, who assessed them based on innovation and creativity, market potential, social and community impact, presentation skills, and responses to questions.

Three outstanding winners were awarded seed grants ranging from US$200 to US$300, based on the quality and performance of their business pitches. In addition, participants received US$100 each in recognition of their commitment and participation throughout the intensive four-week training.
The event celebrated innovation, confidence, entrepreneurship, and women’s economic empowerment, while providing participants with resources to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses.
Investing in young women means investing in stronger families, communities and futures, ending GBV and domestic violence against women.
