FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
LINMYA Board of Directors Postponed the 2nd General Assembly of the Organization which was scheduled for March 7, 2026.
The Board of the Liberian National Muslim Youth Association (LINMYA) wishes to respectfully inform the Executive that, in the exercise of its mandate as the highest decision-making body of the organization, it has carefully reviewed matters relating to the upcoming election scheduled for March 7, 2026.
Following thoughtful deliberation and in the best interest of the organization, the Board has resolved to take an administrative decision to postpone the said election. This step is intended to allow adequate time to address several important matters necessary to ensure a more orderly, inclusive, and credible electoral process.
Accordingly, the Board considers it necessary to:
1. Allow adequate time for proper planning, coordination, and effective implementation of the electoral process.
2. Create space for broader participation and involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
3. Review the constitution and establish clear and appropriate guidelines to guide the process.
4. Properly structure the county-level leadership and facilitate their respective electoral processes.
The Board believes that these measures will further strengthen the integrity, unity, and institutional progress of the Association.
Furthermore, during this interim period, the Board has extended the mandates of all current Executive members within their respective positions and departments until the new election date is determined.
A new date for the election will be communicated in due course once the necessary arrangements and consultations have been concluded.
The Board appreciates the continued cooperation and commitment of the Executive and encourages all members to remain focused on the collective interest, unity, and advancement of LINMYA.
