In observance of International Men's Day today [ November 19, 2025] at Boulevard Palace Hotel, the Founder and National Coordinator of He For She Crusaders Liberia made remarks on behalf of all men at the Ecowas National Training Workshop on Prevention and Response To Gender- Based Violence and Sexual Harrassemen for Bebefit of Judicial, Health and Social Actors. I urged the government to consider supporting programs that address Male Mental Health.

Today November 19, Worldwide, issues that confronting men at all levels including their mental wellbeing are being discussed as well as their numerous and resilience contributions as allies in homes, society and places of work.

The International Men's Day celebration sadly in Liberia neither the government, National, International including families have not understood the importance of the day. The day calls for sober reflection on the numerous positive contributions of men and boys in homes, schools and place of work that are meaningfully contributing towards preventing Gender Based Violence and how men as allies are promoting Gender Equality and Equity. Most importantly, International Men's Day celebration is also meant to advocate and solicit government and other stakeholders suports toward Male mental health (emotional and physical paints and hurts) they are carrying on a daily basis without any recognition, help and support from organisations and government. We all are all aware that in February of 2024, African leaders developed an instrument on Male allies.

That instrument calls for men inclusion in addressing violence. The question is, how intentional and supportive is the government and developing partners in adhering to this call and how are they supporting and promoting male mental health?

Yes, Gender-based Violence is an issue, but how intentional are we [ governmentand citizens] towards this?. If we keep neglecting the mental well being of men and boys who are the perceived perpetrators of violence, are we serious in fighting GBV? The fight must be collective not selective.

Do we at times reflect on how violence are still on the increase in our communities, homes and place of work? The answer is, " We are not intentional in addressing Male issues ". We are treating it as less important. The sooner we realise Male mental health, the su***de will stop, violence will decrease.

As we celebrate this year's [2025] International Men's Day under the Theme: "Male Su***de", He For She Crusaders Liberia salutes all men and boys, recognising those valuable contributions that are resonating so well in ending violence and promoting peace at all levels. Happy International Men's Day.

He For She Crusaders Liberia Urges Stronger Systems to Fight Drug Abuse

Monrovia, August 7, 2025 – The National Coordinator of He For She Crusaders Liberia, Tamba Johnson, is calling on the Liberian government to bolster national systems to ensure the full implementation of President Joseph Boakai’s commitment to the fight against illicit drugs in Liberia.

Speaking on Thursday during the Nationwide March Against Drug Abuse, Johnson proposed the establishment of an Independent Monitoring Task Force to oversee the progress of the President’s anti-drug initiatives.

He emphasized that without effective oversight, the president’s agenda may fall short of producing tangible results.

Johnson also recommended renaming the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) to the "Anti-National Drugs Agency" to reflect a stronger stance against the drug crisis.

"The agency must be well-equipped and adequately compensated to fight this war effectively," he said, urging the government to increase budgetary support for the rebranded agency.

In a bold move, Johnson further proposed the construction of high-security prisons specifically for hardcore drug dealers across the country, stressing that firm punitive measures are necessary to deter major traffickers.

Thousands of Liberians participated in the "Say No to Drugs" campaign on Thursday, demanding stronger government action to curb the escalating drug problem that continues to harm communities nationwide.
