World AIDS Day 2025 is officially observed internationally today under the global theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response"with Liberia's national theme "Mobilizing Domestic Support, Transforming the AIDS Response in Liberia."In Grand Gedeh County, Zwedru City, alongside Grand County Health Team, Cso and stud efforts were focused on raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and providing integrated SRHR services, including free voluntary counseling, testing, and treatment to both key and general populations. These services are crucial for HIV prevention, addressing stigma and discrimination, and fostering acceptance and compassionate care for people living with HIV. Emphasizing the strong link between HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) ensuring comprehensive care meets diverse health needs and drives effective HIV response.Amplifying voices through advocacy is key for expanding access to health services.Calling on the government of Liberia to take ownership of the HIV/AIDS response by allocating domestic resources, especially in light of declining donor funding and shrinking civic space. Strategic investment to close gaps in preventive services, including access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), is vital to sustaining progress. The ongoing fight aims to achieve the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets by 2030: 95% of Liberians knowing their HIV status, 95% of those diagnosed on treatment, and 95% of those on treatment achieving viral suppression. Achieving these targets will bring the goal of zero new HIV infections within reach. Special thanks to partners: Ministry of Health (MOH), National AIDS Commission (NAC), National AIDS Control Program (NACP), Amplifying Rights, Jhpiego, BRAC Liberia and the LIPRIDE family. This collective effort will enhance integrated HIV prevention and care within the broader SRHR framework, which is pivotal for ending AIDS in Liberia.

16 Days of Activism | Day One

As we join the global community for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Amplifying Rights Network (ARN) calls for stronger, inclusive, and enforceable policies that protect all marginalized groups—women, girls, persons with disabilities, rural communities, and other vulnerable populations.

Every day, people on the margins face violence that is often invisible, unreported, or dismissed. Weak policy frameworks, limited accountability, and under-resourced protection systems continue to expose them to harm.

Today, we reaffirm our commitment to:
✅ Advocate for rights-based laws that leave no one behind
✅ Push for adequate funding for GBV prevention and response services
✅ Strengthen community-led protection systems
✅ Hold duty bearers accountable for timely and equitable justice
✅ Promote safe spaces and inclusive participation for all marginalized voices

Ending GBV is not possible without addressing the systemic barriers that silence and endanger vulnerable groups. Policy matters—because protection must be a right, not a privilege.

Let’s keep the pressure on.
Let’s amplify every voice.
Let’s demand a safer, more just Liberia for all.

LIPRIDE as a member of the Amplifying Rights Network, represented by it's Coordinator Maxwell W. Monboe over the past 15 days embarked on a nationwide SRHR awareness camping in an effort to adequately spread the message of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) across the 15 counties of Liberia.

Despite the poor road conditions, no network connectivity, and limited food supply, they have traveled the 15 counties in a team of four to provide much-needed SRHR education to everyone in their diversity.

We command their efforts to intensively raise SRHR awareness, advocate for comprehensive SRHR service access, and build a robust network of county-level SRHR activists.

Their efforts are crucial in the struggle for the passage of the revised Public Health Law, which will ensure that everyone has access to the health services they need.
