The 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀’ 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is delighted to organize a 𝙎𝙤𝙛𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙩 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 aimed at strengthening the bond among the Legends of Mahinda College and welcoming 2026 in true Mahindian spirit.

𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬’ 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔)

The 3rd Executive Committee Meeting of the Mahinda College Past Prefects’ Association for the year 2025/2026 was held last Saturday (15) at Lindy Stays, Unawatuna. The meeting focused on reviewing previous discussions and planning several upcoming initiatives.

The entire Mahinda community proudly congratulates our distinguished Old Mahindian, Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, on being awarded Russia’s prestigious "Order of Friendship" by President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.

This remarkable honour reflects his lifelong dedication to strengthening the friendship between Sri Lanka and Russia, and stands as an inspiration to all Mahindians around the world.

ගාල්ල මහින්දයෙන් බිහිවුණු කීර්තිමත් ආදි සිසුන් අතර රුසියාවේ හිටපු ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති වෛද්‍ය සමන් වීරසිංහ මහතාට හිමිවන්නේ සුවිශේෂී ස්ථානයක්.

1971 මහින්ද විද්‍යාලයේ 5 ශ්‍රේණියට ඇතුළත්වන සමන් වීරසිංහ මහතා 1978 මහින්ද විද්‍යාලයීය ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ විවාද කණ්ඩායමේ නායකයා බවට පත්වෙනවා.

1979 ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ ශිෂ්‍යනායකයකු බවට පත්වන සමන් වීරසිංහ මහතා 1979 දි දකුණු පළාතෙ දක්ෂතම කථිකයා බවට පත්වෙමින් ත්‍යාග ප්‍රදානෝත්සවයේ දී මහාචාර්ය නන්දදාස කෝදාගොඩ කුසලානය හිමිකර ගන්නවා.

මහින්දෙට ජේ.ආර් ජයවර්ධන මැතිතුමා පැමිණි 1979 ත්‍යාග ප්‍රදානෝත්සවයේ ස්තුති කතාව කරන්නෙත් මෙතුමාම තමයි.

1980 වර්ෂයේ රජයේ පූර්ණ ශිෂ්‍යත්වයක් මත මොස්කව් වෛද්‍ය විද්‍යාලයට ඇතුළත්ව ප්‍රථම පන්තියේ ගෞරව උපාධියක් ලබාගන්නා වෛද්‍ය සමන් වීරසිංහ මහතා පසුකාලීනව රාජතාන්ත්‍රිකයකු ලෙස මේ රටට කැපී පෙනෙන මෙහවරක් ඉටු කරනවා.

තමන් අකුරු කළ මහින්දය කිසිදා අමතක නොකළ වෛද්‍ය සමන් වීරසිංහ මහතා 2007 වසරේ දී තම දෙමාපියන්ගේ නමින් මහින්දය තුළ ආරම්භ කළ වෛද්‍ය සමන් වීරසිංහ පදනමේ ශිෂ්‍යත්ව වැඩපිළිවෙල ඔස්සේ මේ වනවිට දරුවන් 600කට අධික පිරිසකට ශිෂ්‍යත්ව පිරිනමා තිබෙනවා.

පසුගිය වසරේ එම ශිෂ්‍යතව ලැබු ළමුන් 16 දෙනෙකු පමණ විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ප්‍රවේශයට සුදුසුකම් ලැබීමත් විශේෂයි.

එදා ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය මවු සංගමයෙන් ජීවිතයේ එක්වරක් පමණක් පිරිනමන මහින්ද පුත්‍ර සම්මානයෙන් 2017 වසරේ දී පිදුම් ලද වෛද්‍ය සමන් වීරසිංහ මහතා, සැමවිටම තමන් මේ තත්ත්වයට ඔසවා තැබුවේ මහින්ද විද්‍යාලයෙන් ලද අධ්‍යාපනය හා පන්නරය නිසා බව නිතර සිහිපත් කරන්නෙක්.

ඉතිං අපගේ ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ අනුශාසකවරයකු වන වෛද්‍ය සමන් වීරසිංහ මැතිතුමනි,

ඔබට සුබ උපන් දිනයක් වේවා!
