Mahinda College Past Prefects' Association presents 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 for Board of Prefects
The Mahinda College Past Prefects' Association has presented a Code of Ethics for the Board of Prefects to Mahinda College, with the objective of strengthening student leadership, discipline, and the long-standing traditions of the school.
The Code of Ethics, prepared by the Association, was officially handed over to Mr. Janaka Peduruhewa, Principal of Mahinda College, during the Association's Annual General Meeting held on July 4 at the Suniru Lanka Hotel, Makuluwa.
The document was prepared at the request of the Principal to provide the College's senior management with a written framework to guide the administration and functioning of the Board of Prefects. It is intended to serve as a reference in ensuring the effective operation of the Board while maintaining consistency in leadership and decision-making.
The primary objective of the Code of Ethics is to strengthen the role of the Board of Prefects in contributing to the development of Mahinda College while preserving the traditions, values, and responsibilities associated with student leadership. It also aims to support the maintenance of student discipline and uphold the proud heritage of Mahinda College, which spans 134 years.
Representing the committee that drafted the Code of Ethics, former Head Prefect Mr. Erosh Fernando presented copies of the document to Mr. Janaka Peduruhewa, Principal of Mahinda College, and Mr. Chamara Roshan, Teacher-in-Charge of the Board of Prefects.
The Association noted that the Code of Ethics may be revised from time to time in keeping with evolving requirements by a committee appointed by the Principal, with equal representation from the Mahinda College Past Prefects' Association.
Those present at the occasion included Mr. C.A. Gunawardana, Patron of the Mahinda College Past Prefects' Association; Mr. Indika Semage, President of the Association; Mr. Nandasiri Paranagama, former President of the Association and Secretary of the School Development Society; Secretary Mr. Ramesh Warallegama; and Treasurer Mr. Buddhika Senavirathna.

මහින්ද විද්‍යාලයීය ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමය විසින් සකස් කරන ලද ශිෂ්‍යනායක ආචාරධර්ම පද්ධතිය මකුළුව සුනිරු ලංකා හෝටලයේ පසුගිය ජුලි 4 පැවැති මහා සභා රැස්වීමේ දී විදුහල්පති ජනක පේදුරුහේවා මහතාට භාර දී ඇත.
ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ ශිෂ්‍ය නායක මණ්ඩලයේ කටයුතු පවත්වාගෙන යාමේ දී විද්‍යාලයීය ඉහළ කළමනාකරණ කමිටුවට අවශ්‍ය මාර්ගෝපදේශ ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා විදුහල්පතිතුමාගේ ඉල්ලීම පරිදි ඊට සහය වන ලිඛිත ලියැවිල්ලක අවශ්‍යතාව ඉටු කරමින් මෙම ආචාරධර්ම පද්ධතිය භාර දී තිබේ.
වසර 134ක පෞඩ අතීතයට හිමිකම් කියන ගාල්ල මහින්ද විද්‍යාලයේ අභිමානය වෙනුවෙන් ශිෂ්‍ය විනය පවත්වාගෙන යාම ඇතුළු ශිෂ්‍යනායකයන්ගේ මැදිහත්වීමෙන් ඉටු කරන ප්‍රමුඛ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් සහ සම්ප්‍රදායන් රැකගනිමින් විද්‍යාලයේ දියුණුවට ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ ශිෂ්‍යනායක කාර්යභාරය ශක්තිමත්ව ලබා ගැනීම මෙම ආචාර ධර්ම පද්ධතිය භාර දීමේ ප්‍රමුඛ අරමුණකි.
ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ ආචර ධර්ම පද්ධතිය සකස් කිරීමේ කමිටුව නියෝජනය කරමින් හිටපු ප්‍රධාන ශිෂ්‍ය නායකයකු මෙන්ම ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ හිටපු සභාපතිවරයකුවන ඉරෝෂ් ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා විදුහල්පති ජනක පේදුරුහේවා මහතාට සහ ශිෂ්‍ය නායක මණ්ඩලය භාර ආචාර්ය චාමර රොෂාන් මහතාට ශිෂ්‍යනායක මණ්ඩලය සඳහා වූ ආචාරධර්ම පද්ධතියේ පිටපත් ලබා දුන්නේය.
මෙම ආචරධර්ම පද්ධතිය කාලීන අවශ්‍යතාව අනුව විදුහල්පති විසින් නියම කරන ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ සම නියෝජනයක් සහිත කමිටුවකින් සංශෝධනය කළ හැකිය.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට මහින්ද විද්‍යාලයීය ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ අනුශාසක සී.ඒ ගුණවර්ධන, ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ සභාපති ඉන්දික සේමගේ, ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ හිටපු සභාපති සහ පාසල් සංවර්ධන සමිතියේ ලේකම් නතන පරණගම, ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය නායක සංගමයේ ලේකම් රමේෂ් වරල්ලෙගම සහ භාණ්ඩාගාරික බුද්ධික සෙනවිරත්න මහත්වරු එක්ව සිටියහ.
