Mlilo Community Based Tourism Association {MCBTA} is registered as a local CBO. Mlilo is a membership organisation governed by Board of Trustees and managed by a Secretariat. Mlilo was formed in 2005 by institutions involved in nature-based activities under the facilitation of Kenya Wildlife Service Community Department. KWS has been instrumental in developing community based tourism products an

d outreach programs addressing human-wildlife conflict which led to formation of CBTE in the County and many projects has taken life among them being Mlilo.

Taita offers excellent camp sites as well as nature trails. There is also a vibrant wildlife and insect life. The area is also excellent for rock or mountain climbing among other activities.
Some of the hills have several caves that were used until very recent times as shrines, tombs and dwellings. Historically the caves also served as military bankers during pastoralist maasai culture rustling missions.
The majestically jutting rock outcrops {Wesu, Iyale, Vuria,Goe} and glimpse of the closed canopy of indigenous Ngangao cloud forest offers a visitor a sneak preview.
