We later joined the Center for Mining, Engineering, Resource and Environmental Management (CEMEREM) Club at Taita Taveta University for their AGM, graciously hosted by the Club Patron, Professor Maganga.
I was honored to accompany NACADA County Coordinator Mr. Erick Gichohi and Taita Taveta County CPSB Chairperson FCPA Dalton Mwaghogho.

Today we successfully held a powerful Mentorship Session at Mwatate Secondary School, bringing together students, leaders, and partners committed to shaping a brighter future for our young people.
Graced by Deputy Governor H.E. Christine Saru Kilalo, the session focused on discipline and character building, academic excellence, environmental conservation, and sensitisation on alcohol and drug abuse. We also supported students through sanitary towels distribution to promote dignity and school retention.
Together with partners including NACADA and the Joyce Lay Foundation, we continue to invest in empowering the next generation with knowledge, values, and opportunity.

Today, we paid a strategic institutional visit to the offices of the National Youth Council at Absa Towers, Nairobi.

The engagement focused on:
Strengthening collaboration between county youth platforms and national youth structures
Exploring formal recognition and structured partnership frameworks
Aligning grassroots youth initiatives with national youth policy priorities
Enhancing youth representation and coordination mechanisms

The visit reaffirmed the importance of structured dialogue between youth-led organizations and statutory youth institutions to advance inclusive participation, leadership development, and sustainable empowerment programs.

We appreciate the openness of the Council to continued engagement and collaboration in strengthening youth governance frameworks.

Yesterday, We held a strategic policy consultative meeting with our Patron, Shadrack Mwadime, Principal Secretary, State Department for Labour and Skills Development, at his Nairobi office (NSSF Building).

The engagement focused on policy alignment and institutional collaboration.

The meeting reaffirmed the need for coordinated intergovernmental collaboration and formalized youth-government engagement mechanisms to advance inclusive economic participation for young people.

We appreciate the Principal Secretary’s continued commitment to structured youth engagement within the national development agenda.

Training Concluded | Youth Peace & Security (YPS) Training

Today, we successfully concluded the three-day Youth Peace and Security (YPS) Training at the Mwatate Youth Empowerment Centre, implemented by Taita Taveta Youth Alliance in partnership with ACCORD, with support from the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The training equipped youth leaders from across Taita Taveta County with practical skills in conflict analysis, negotiation, early warning, and peacebuilding, strengthening their role in promoting dialogue and social cohesion within their communities.

We sincerely recognize and appreciate the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, through the Directorate of Youth Development and Empowerment, for their continued support in advancing youth empowerment and youth-led peace and security initiatives.

Together, we are building a peaceful, resilient, and inclusive Taita Taveta County.

Day Two Completed | Youth Peace & Security Training

Day Two of the Taita Taveta Youth Alliance Youth Peace and Security (YPS) Training, implemented in partnership with ACCORD and supported by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has successfully concluded at the Mwatate Youth Empowerment Centre.

The day focused on conflict analysis and negotiation skills, with participants applying practical tools to real community conflict scenarios across Taita Taveta County.

Special appreciation goes to the State Department for Youth Affairs for their continued support in empowering young people and strengthening youth-led peace and security efforts.

We now look forward to Day Three, where participants will apply these skills through practical negotiation exercises and early warning approaches as we continue building peace from the grassroots.

Day One Highlights | Youth Peace & Security Training

Yesterday marked the successful completion of Day One of the Taita Taveta Youth Alliance Youth Peace and Security (YPS) Training, implemented in partnership with ACCORD and supported by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Mwatate Youth Empowerment Centre.

Youth leaders from across Taita Taveta County engaged in sessions on the nature, causes, and responses to conflict, drawing from real community experiences through interactive discussions and group work.

We appreciate the support and encouragement from Hon. Anthony Mng'ambwa Patel, Taita Taveta County Assembly Majority Leader and Mwatate Constituency MP Aspirant, and Hon. Peter Shambi, Senator Aspirant, whose presence and goodwill continue to motivate youth-led peacebuilding efforts across the county.

Taita Taveta Youth Alliance was proud to engage in the two-day TTaWECoF Workshop on Forestry and Climate Change held on 10th–11th December 2025 at Taita Luxury Hotel.

Our Youth representative actively participated in reviewing progress, sharing innovative ideas, and strengthening collaborative actions to protect our environment and build climate resilience in Taita Taveta.

We extend our gratitude to the County Government—Department of Water, Sanitation, Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources for their unwavering support and partnership.

Taita Taveta Youth Alliance is proud to have taken part in the Capacity Building Training on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) held from 8th–10th December 2025 at Vacani Resort, Voi Sub-County.

The training, convened by the National Steering Committee on Peacebuilding and Conflict Management (NSC), brought together youth and women leaders from across all sub-counties to enhance grassroots skills in peacebuilding, dialogue, and conflict resolution.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the County Commissioner’s Office, NSC, and all partners for continuously empowering young leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to promote harmony, unity, and sustainable peace in Taita Taveta.

🌍 TAITA TAVETA YOUTH ALLIANCE AT GRB TRAINING

Taita Taveta Youth Alliance was pleased to join the two-day Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) training by AFIDEP and the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action.

The workshop focused on strengthening capacity to integrate Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) into CIDPs and ADPs, led by facilitators from AFIDEP, SDfGAA, and the National Treasury.

We commend Taita Taveta County Government for its continued leadership in promoting gender equity.

We are looking for active youth leaders engaged in peacebuilding, community safety, conflict prevention, or any initiative aligned with the YPS agenda.
