🇵🇹 At 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻ç𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗻, sisters from the inter-regional European community and Casa Sant’Ana, together with representatives of GSIJP, planted 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀: 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘀.

🌱 The inter-regional community brings together sisters from the 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 and the 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐝-𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞. As members of this community, 𝗦𝗿. 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 GSIJP Coordinator Sr. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁 took part in the event.

The project connects with an existing collaboration with 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁’𝗔𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮, where 𝗦𝗿𝘀. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗶çã𝗼, 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮, 𝗔𝗻𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮çã𝗼, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝘂í𝘀𝗮 welcome women and children experiencing vulnerability.

🥬 The sisters of Casa Sant’Ana also make part of their land available to the inter-regional community to 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘃𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀, both for their own use and to share with families in need.

📜 Discover the history of the Museum’s building, objects preserved from former communities, and archival photographs of the Chapel of the Sacred Heart, demolished in the 1950s.

💐 With hearts full of gratitude, we unite with 𝐒𝐫. 𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐒á𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐳 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐳 in a Thanksgiving Mass at the Generalate in Rome, a post celebration of the grace and blessings of her Silver Jubilee of Religious Profession which was celebrated on August 29, 2026, in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico. Today we joyfully share in this post-celebration, giving thanks to God for her 𝟐𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞. 🌍

🙏 Today, October 18, we join the global Church in celebrating 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆, united in solidarity and prayer with missionaries around the world.

Inspired by this year's theme, 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵, 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, we celebrate the 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝟲𝟳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, where sisters and partners-in-mission respond through action, advocacy, and prayer to the realities of girls, women, and children experiencing injustice and exclusion.

Guided by our Constitutions, Position Papers, and Calls to Action, we renew our commitment to a 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 and pray for new missionary vocations and continued zeal in serving God's people.

🇲🇲 On October 10, Good Shepherd sisters and partners-in-mission gathered in the 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿, to celebrate the Congregation’s 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

Joined by representatives of other religious congregations and members of the local community, participants reflected on 𝘓𝘢𝘶𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘪’ and the example of Blessed Aguchita.

🙏 Led in prayer by 𝗦𝗿. 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗶 𝗢𝗼, East Asia Province Leader, the gathering included prayer, reflection, and activities connecting participants with the soil and plants.

🌱 On October 15, 𝗦𝗿. 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮 𝐏𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬, Regional Leader of Southern Europe, joined sisters, partners-in-mission, neighbors, and friends in the garden of the Regional House to plant 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 in support of the 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

🤝 Joined by the Missionary Fathers of Skutt and the Brothers of St. John, the community took this first shared step toward greater ecological awareness and responsibility for our common home.

💗 This October, our 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁-𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗯𝗲𝘆 in Angers, France, is illuminated in pink for 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵.

Part of the Good Shepherd Motherhouse complex, the abbey has witnessed more than a thousand years of history. In 1855, 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘂𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗮 and her sisters built a 55-meter tunnel connecting the Motherhouse to the abbey gardens, creating a sheltered passage to let the sisters move freely between the two sites.

Today, its illuminated pink-lit walls express solidarity with women affected by breast cancer, those undergoing treatment, and the people supporting them through care, awareness, and research.

🌷 Just as the sisters once created a passage forward, this gesture reminds us of the importance of accompaniment, early detection, and access to care.

👩🏾‍🍳 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘖𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴: 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘭𝘢

🇦🇴 “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳!” For one woman at the 𝗦𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠. 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗩𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 in Luanda, Angola, completing her culinary and pastry training has already led to her first customer.

Under the guidance of 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗮, a trainer and longstanding partner-in-mission, women are developing practical skills to earn an income and support their families.

🍰 Another participant, Cátia, is already promoting her sweets for parties and celebrations, turning her training into a small business opportunity.

Following the first Chapter for the new 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐝-𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞, held in Angers, France, from 2–5 September 2026, we congratulate the newly elected Regional Leadership Team:

🔹 𝗦𝗿. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝘆𝗻𝗰𝗵 (Ireland) – Regional Leader, bringing experience in congregational leadership, social work, formation, and missionary service in Ethiopia and South Africa.

🔹 𝗦𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗷𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗲 (Germany) – Regional Councilor, with experience in human rights advocacy, supporting survivors of violence and trafficking, and service on the Congregational Leadership Team.

🔹 𝗦𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗰𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗿 (Ireland) – Regional Councilor, with a background in social work, family therapy, spiritual direction, and supporting women in vulnerable situations.

The 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲.

The Region comprises six countries: Germany, Ireland, Great Britain, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. The new team begins its mandate on 𝟴 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

🌍 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 — 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆!

On International Day of the Girl, we celebrate girls worldwide who raise their voices, challenge inequality, and shape decisions that affect their lives.

Rooted in our 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱, sisters and partners-in-mission work alongside girls to strengthen access to education, protection, healthcare, and opportunities for meaningful participation.

🇮🇳 🇧🇴 Earlier this year, 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗮 brought their experiences and demands for change to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York, calling for greater accountability and genuine participation in decision-making.
