On 24 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘦, the 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 held its 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, bringing together the Congregation's Safeguarding Focal Persons from across the world to reflect on the 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞:
"𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴."

𝐀 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 from the session was: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵, "𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯?" 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬: "𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥, 𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘬?"

If the answer may be yes, the concern should be reported.
Participants engaged in meaningful discussions on local barriers to reporting and explored ways to strengthen a culture where reporting is understood not as blame or punishment, but as an expression of care, accountability, and commitment to our Good Shepherd mission.

Together, we affirmed that reporting is one of the most important ways we protect children, vulnerable persons, survivors, our communities, and the integrity of our mission.

A conversation can open the door to a life of service. 🌱

In Vietnam, our sisters marked 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 by going out to meet young people across several dioceses. The day was an opportunity to listen and share about faith, vocation, and mission.

Through booths, games, and short video presentations, the sisters shared the Good Shepherd mission and invited young people to reflect on what it means to live with justice, mercy, and solidarity, especially alongside women and children facing hardship.

Many came with questions about the charism, their own life purpose, and how they might serve. We give thanks for these encounters and pray that the seeds planted will continue to grow in the lives of those who took part. 🙏

🌍 The Second Safeguarding Community of Practice session on “𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 – 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲” was held on May 27 for the main focal persons of the provinces/regions.

It was a rich space of reflection, sharing, and learning from real experiences across our ministries and regions. Together, we continue to name silence and strengthen our commitment to safeguarding all entrusted to our care.

As an accredited NGO with UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, our sisters and partners-in-mission are committed to fighting poverty, promoting justice, and restoring dignity to girls, women, and children worldwide.

In April’s 𝐎𝐋𝐂 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫, we highlight the incredible ways our global family is answering the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. Some of the main themes and events featured include:
