BMS Nationwide Protest on August 17, 2026
The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has decided to organize a nationwide protest at all district headquarters on August 17, 2026. This decision was taken at the BMS National Committee Meeting held on July 26, 27, and 28, 2026, at Sarala Birla University Campus, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
The nationwide protest will be organized to press the following demands:
1. Increase the ESIC wage ceiling from ₹21,000 to ₹42,000.
2. Raise the minimum EPF pension from ₹1,000 to ₹7,500 per month.
3. Increase the EPF wage ceiling from ₹15,000 to ₹30,000.
4. Raise the Bonus calculation ceiling from ₹7,000 to ₹18,000.
5. Increase the Bonus eligibility wage limit from ₹21,000 to ₹42,000.
6. Increase the honorarium of Scheme Workers.
7. Ensure equal pay for equal work for contract workers.
8. Remove the anti-worker provisions in the Labour Codes.

The National Committee urged the Central Government to take immediate action on these demands.
The meeting, held at the Sarala Birla University Campus, Ranchi, was presided over by BMS All India President Shri S. Mallesham. General Secretary Shri Surendra Kumar Pandey, Organising Secretary Shri B. Surendran, former All India Presidents Shri C. K. Saji Narayanan and Shri Hiranmay Pandya, along with several senior leaders and office-bearers, participated in the meeting.
