This is Rain and he’s a victim of the menace that is kite manjha 🤬. He was found with his leg dangling with just his skin. The manjha had wrapped around his leg tightly, which led to maggot’s doing the rest. It took the vet’s forever to remove the manjha. His hemoglobin was dropping by the day and a very risky emergency surgery had to be done to amputate his rotting leg. By some miracle he pulled through and is now recovering well. To those who cut kites, please remember that many innocent animal’s are paying the price for your cheap thrills 😞.

This is Pichkari and today was his first day riding his new wheel’s!!!
Pichkari came to us on 20.Sept and in a terrible way. He’s little over a month and his been paralysed most of his life. He came with tick fever and an abdomen full of urine as he couldn’t pass it himself. Everyday we had to use a catheter to remove it and everyday we prayed that he lived another day. This champ pulled through the worst of it and he’s now finally on his way to recovery. Well done Pichkari… we are so very proud of you and so happy that you’re part of our family 🧡.

This is Chief and she’s the bravest girl ever!!! She was found with a broken bone sticking out of her leg. Don’t know for how long she endured this, my guess for quite some time. Her hemoglobin was 5, she needed a blood transfusion asap so that an emergency surgery could be done…. luckily one of our dog’s Momo was a match. The vet’s didn’t know the extent of the damage and the plan was to try to save her leg. During surgery they saw that the entire bone was rotten and amputation was the only way. This brave girl has only smiled through it all and taken it on like a champ 💪🏼. She still has a long road to recovery and we’ll be there for her every step of the way.

We got a call today about a calf in a terrible way. When my team reached there they saw that it’s a bad case of Lumpy, a highly infection viral disease that bovine’s get.
It took about 7 us almost 2 hrs to clean all his wound’s and remove hundreds upon hundreds of maggot’s. He also had a fever of 104! With drip and necessary medicine’s the little one started to feel better.
Lumpy is so infectious that flies that sit on him can carry it to our other bovine. To keep them safe we’ve made a little tent of mosquito net for him. This way flies don’t irritate him, nor do they cause it to spread.

We got a call today about a Mama living on the side of a road in the middle of a busy market with her 5 remaining approx 20 day old pup’s. Amazed that this brave Mama managed to keep them alive in the harsh environment that she was in. Three of her puppies had passed away yesterday and by the time we reached her one more pup passed away 😞. We had to make sure that the pup’s were latching on and thankfully they are. Now it’s all about showering them with love, giving them a safe home and the Mama plenty of fresh nutritious food and loads of bone broth soup to increase her milk supply. She’s weak, has a skin condition, injured from being hit by a car and her pup’s are also weak. We are going to do everything to bring them back to peak health.

We got a call about a cow in a terrible state. The plan was to treat her on the street’s daily, but with this long and incessant monsoon we felt it was best to bring her to the sanctuary for treatment. Treating bull’s and cow’s is always extremely dangerous for our team, but hat’s off them for doing what needs to be done for the betterment of all our street animal’s. We are super proud of our team for their dedication, hard work and devotion 🫡.

John came to us on 14.July.26. He had been beaten up by an evil a-hole and with the kind of wounds he had most likely tied and dragged behind a vehicle. There was not an inch of his body that didn’t have wounds, including all four paw pads shredded.
With a lot of love, care, treatment and nutritious food, John has made a full recovery!!! Of course there is absolutely no way that we’re going to send him back to the hell he came from. He’s now very much part of Pack Akoi and absolutely loving being in a loving and save space 🐶🧡.

Soldier is healing well. He’s just the happiest, most loving and trusting dog ever. He like all other abandoned dog’s, deserve to find their true family. Being a Husky-Indie mix he’ll need to be in a home that has ample space for him to run around in and other dogs that can match his energy and fun personality. Here’s hoping that a perfect match comes his way 🤞🏻.
