But most importantly, through community-led initiatives like the Sujal Saheli program SUJAL MAHILA MAHASANGH, which empowers women and creates new opportunities.

The indigenous Indian cereal Bajra or pearl millet flourishes in the desert climate of Rajasthan’s climate. Through the bajra initiative, we worked with farmers across four villages, sharing quality seeds and stronger cultivation practices, so this resilient crop can do even more for the people who grow it.

As part of the Program’s student engagement initiatives, 40 students from Grades 5–8 at PUMS (Panchayat Upper Middle School) Muthirakolly recently visited a tea factory in Gudalur in the Nilgiris.

The Factory Senior Manager walked them through the manufacturing process, giving students a firsthand look at how their everyday cup of tea comes together 🫖

Exposure visits like these are not just fun, they also give students a firm grasp on the concepts they learn in school.

Across Road to School locations this year, summer camps proved that learning can happen even away from a screen and outside a classroom. In Ennore, Chennai, parents joined in too, with sessions on hygiene, nutrition and staying safe in the heat.

Through art, movement, storytelling and play, children built essential life skills. In the Nilgiris, the outreach also helped secure 12 new school admissions for the year ahead.

Road To School summer camps were designed to foster creativity, collaboration and confidence.

The program also offered online sessions on art and academics, allowing students to join in remotely.

RTS summer camps got an overwhelmingly positive response from parents and communities.
