We offer free shelter to children undergoing cancer treatment

Access Life - a social organization came to existence in Chembur. Started by experienced young entrepreneurs from travel and media, the NGO aims to make a difference to the lives of children from weaker sections of the society. Presently, the organization is engaged in providing free accommodation, transportation, nutrition, counselling, recreation, education and an inspiring living environment to poor children undergoing cancer treatment. Every month, thousands of cancer patients come to this city to receive treatment in aided hospitals. These patients travel great distance, often mortgaging their homes and fields in the hope of finding the best possible cancer treatment at charitable cost. As treatments stretch from days to months these families are sometimes forced to live on the streets, fending for themselves in menial ways. Access Life has launched a Patient Care Centre that not only provides to free accommodation but also strives to make their stay memorable with fun-filled activities and ambiance. Set up with the help of professionals, experts and enthusiasts from social sector, the patient care centres currently have capacity to house 82 patient families in Mumbai, Pune, Manipal and soon in Chandigarh . The Founders of the NGO share a common zeal and enthusiasm and are equally devoted to the cause. Girish Nair & Ankeet Dave have known each other for years and have volunteered together for various causes. The idea of having an NGO of their own took shape after repeated visits to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital

As Access Life completes 12 years of supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer, we are humbled to open the doors to our 15th Home Away From Home in Thiruvananthapuram. 🏡💛

This is more than a centre. It is a safe, caring space created for children and their families during one of the most difficult phases of their lives.

This new Home Away From Home will support childhood cancer families referred by the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Trivandrum, offering them a place to stay with warmth, dignity and care. 💛

We are honoured to have been recognised at the 7th edition of The Restore Awards®🌍✨

Representing Access Life 🎗️, our Founder Ankeet Dave was present to receive this special recognition — a moment that celebrates not just an award, but the collective effort behind our mission to ensure that no child fights cancer alone.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is the relationship that has grown over the years with Dr. Rachna Chhachhi and the Kindness Practice Foundation.

Rachna has consistently thought of Access Life 🎗️, spoken about our work, included us in initiatives and helped create greater awareness about the lives of children with cancer and their families.

We are especially grateful to Shweta Kawaatra, who presented the award to Access Life 🎗️. A celebrated television actor and Kindness Ambassador, Shweta is also a strong advocate for women’s mental health.

The Restore Awards® is special because it creates a platform for people and organisations doing meaningful work.

Today, Access Life 🎗️ has 15 centres across 11 cities, with 239 rooms for families, enabling us to support 717 beneficiaries at any given time. More than 13,000 beneficiaries have been supported through our journey so far.

Anu has been referred to Access Life for treatment and is undergoing treatment for B-ALL / BMT. She joined us on 1 October 2026, along with her family. 🏠🎗️

With her mother working and two siblings by her side, Anu continues to face each day with courage and hope. 🌈

And like every child, Anu has a dream close to her heart — she wants to become a police officer someday! 👮‍♀️✨

🌟 MEET INIYA: A LITTLE FIGHTER WITH A BIG JOURNEY! 🌟

At just 1½ years old, little Iniya from Tirunelveli is showing incredible courage. 💛

His journey began with fever, cough and cold, followed by fits and seizures. When he later had difficulty raising one hand, an MRI revealed a brain tumour. After surgery, he was referred to RCC, Thiruvananthapuram, where he is undergoing treatment for Ependymoma – Frontoparietal Region and has now begun radiation therapy. 🎗️🌈
🏠 Access Life Thiruvananthapuram is now his family’s Home Away From Home, providing safe accommodation, nutritious meals, transportation assistance, emotional support and a caring community.
Here, Iniya can play, smile and simply be a child, while his family can focus on his treatment with one less worry. 💛

🌟 MEET GOUROB: A LITTLE BRAVEHEART WITH A BIG SPIRIT! 🌟

At just 8 years old, Gourob Das from Cachar, Assam, is beginning a difficult treatment journey, but his energetic smile and playful spirit continue to shine through. 💛🌈

For Gourob and his family, life changed when he was diagnosed with Nodular Lymphocyte-Predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma (NLPHL). He is currently undergoing treatment at Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.

While treatment takes Gourob through hospital visits and difficult days, his parents are by his side, navigating each step with courage and hope. For a family going through cancer treatment, being away from the comfort of home can bring another set of worries: where to stay, what to eat, how to travel to the hospital and how to keep life as normal as possible for their child.

🏡 This is where Access Life Silchar becomes their Home Away From Home.

At Access Life, Gourob and his family now have a safe and supportive place to stay during his treatment journey, along with nutritious food, transportation, counselling and non-formal education.

For Gourob, it means having a place where he can run, explore, play and make new friends. 😄💛

For his parents, it means one less worry during a time when their focus needs to be on their child.

🌸 OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME IN BORIVALI 🌸
Visit by Riddhi Shah & Ami Shah

We were happy to welcome Ms. Riddhi Shah and Ms. Ami Shah to our Centre. During their visit, they took a tour of the facility and learned more about Access Life’s work, our holistic support services, and the everyday journey of children and families staying with us.

They appreciated the efforts being made at the Centre and were touched by the warm, safe, and supportive environment created for our young cancer bravehearts and their families. 💛

From accommodation, nutrition, transportation, and education to counselling and emotional support, every service at Access Life is designed to make a difficult journey a little easier for children and their families.
