Started by experienced young entrepreneurs from travel and media, the NGO aims to make a difference to the lives of children from weaker sections of the society. Presently, the organization is engaged in providing free accommodation, transportation, nutrition, counsellin
g, recreation, education and an inspiring living environment to poor children undergoing cancer treatment. Every month, thousands of cancer patients come to this city to receive treatment in aided hospitals. These patients travel great distance, often mortgaging their homes and fields in the hope of finding the best possible cancer treatment at charitable cost. As treatments stretch from days to months these families are sometimes forced to live on the streets, fending for themselves in menial ways. Access Life has launched a Patient Care Centre that not only provides to free accommodation but also strives to make their stay memorable with fun-filled activities and ambiance. Set up with the help of professionals, experts and enthusiasts from social sector, the patient care centres currently have capacity to house 82 patient families in Mumbai, Pune, Manipal and soon in Chandigarh . The Founders of the NGO share a common zeal and enthusiasm and are equally devoted to the cause. Girish Nair & Ankeet Dave have known each other for years and have volunteered together for various causes. The idea of having an NGO of their own took shape after repeated visits to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital
