Across Vipla Foundation’s Community Balwadis, children engage in preschool learning through songs, stories, routines, free play, and everyday interactions that make learning both joyful and structured. Improving the quality of early education requires continuous support systems that help teachers strengthen classroom practices over time.

Through its partnership with the BMC under the Umang BMC Balwadi Digitisation Programme, Vipla Foundation is working towards building greater consistency, accountability, and r​esponsiveness within early learning classrooms.

Using the Umang App, teachers are able to digitally track enrolment, attendance, and classroom activities, which helps create a real-time understanding of children’s learning experiences. Developmental progress is also monitored through classroom learning evaluations and digital assessment tools, while mentors use structured observation and evaluation frameworks to support continuous improvement of the Balwadi Teachers.

With real-time data, targeted mentoring, and inclusive teaching practices, the programme demonstrates how sustained support can help strengthen public early education systems at scale.

Leadership begins early when children are given meaningful opportunities to participate, collaborate and lead.

Through Children’s Parliament workshops across 40 PCMC schools, 405 student ministers strengthened their understanding of democratic participation, collaboration, action planning, and their roles within school communities. The workshops enabled children to identify and raise peer concerns, engage more confidently with school systems, and contribute actively to collective decision-making.

Teachers and school duty bearers also participated to strengthen supportive spaces where children’s voices are heard and acted upon.

Vipla Foundation, with the valued support of Flipkart Foundation, successfully hosted the Graduation Ceremony at the Nigdi Centre, celebrating a year-long journey of skilling, mentoring, and empowerment for youth and women trained in IT, BFSI, Retail, and BPO sectors.

The initiative has impacted nearly 250 women and young girls from the Nigdi and Chikhli communities through employability-focused technical and life-skills training, contributing to over 90% increase in family income among programme participants.

We are delighted to continue our meaningful association with Mumbai Aviation Fuel Farm Facility Private Limited (MAFFFL) as we move forward together in strengthening the Early Years Learning Ecosystem.

Since 2024, MAFFFL has been a valued partner in supporting the 8 Community Balwadis Programme of Vipla Foundation, with a shared commitment towards making quality early childhood education accessible for children aged 3–6 years from underserved communities, ensuring their holistic development and school readiness.

Beyond support, MAFFFL has been deeply engaged in understanding community needs, participating in activities across the year, and continuously encouraging and appreciating the efforts of Balwadi teachers, children and teams.

We are especially happy to expand this collaboration further in 2026–27 with the addition of Mother–Child Awareness Sessions focused on Parenting, Nurturing Care, and Early Stimulation to promote holistic early childhood development even in the home environment.
