On this Teachers' Day, PanIIT Alumni India honours the educators who have shaped generations of IITians, inspired by the ideals of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose life remains a symbol of the value that knowledge and mentorship bring to a nation.

Every engineer, entrepreneur, researcher, and leader who has walked out of an IIT campus carries with them the influence of a teacher who pushed them further, believed in their potential, and helped shape not just their skills, but their character.

As a global network of 23 IITs and over 500,000 alumni, PanIIT Alumni India proudly honours the lasting contribution of our teachers to innovation, leadership, and nation-building.

To every teacher who has shaped an IITian's journey, thank you.

With profound grief and heavy hearts, PanIIT Alumni India mourns the passing of our esteemed General Body member, Shri Gyanesh Chaudhry (BT/EE/1966), who has left for his heavenly abode.

An exceptional entrepreneur and Managing Director of Servel Electronics, Shri Chaudhry's bond with his alma mater, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, was legendary, from serving as Captain of the IIT Kanpur Cricket Team during his student days, to later becoming Founder President of the IITKAA Delhi Chapter. He was a true visionary of the IIT fraternity, playing a monumental role as a Co-Founder of the PanIIT Alumni movement, helping unite thousands of IITians across the globe under a single umbrella.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the countless alumni whose lives he touched and guided. His legacy will forever remain etched in the foundation of our community.

We mourn the loss of an extraordinary individual and pray for peace to his soul. ๐Ÿ™

PanIIT Alumni India congratulates Dr. Arvind Krishna (BT/EE, 1985), alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Chairman & CEO of IBM, on being named to TIME's 2026 list of the 100 Most Influential People in AI, featured in the prestigious Leaders category.

Since taking the helm as IBM's Chairman and CEO in 2020, Dr. Krishna has steered the 115-year-old technology giant through the AI transformation with a distinctive philosophy, championing smaller, efficient, enterprise-ready AI models over a one-size-fits-all approach, and betting that true value lies not just in building large models, but in how effectively they're deployed for real business needs.

Dr. Krishna joins a global cohort of AI leaders on this year's list, alongside figures like Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, and Elon Musk, a testament to the scale of influence an IIT Kanpur alumnus now holds on the world stage.

Seeing an alumnus from the Class of '85 continue to set new benchmarks in global technology leadership is a moment of immense pride for the entire IIT community.

Congratulations, Dr. Krishna, on this remarkable, well-deserved honour!
