Our Programs team spent the past few weeks in Punjab and Uttarakhand, meeting local organisations and communities as part of Craftizen Foundation’s new geographies diagnostic for the Petalists Livelihood Program.

Before entering a new geography or starting a new program, we listen. What’s already working? Where are the gaps? What do local partners and communities need?

A day full of colour, creativity, and connection at our partner centre, Swayam Siddha Ind Co-operative Society for Handicapped Ltd., Rabale, Navi Mumbai!

On 8 August, 32 volunteers from Accenture in India joined our trainees for a hands-on employee engagement workshop: painting recycled wood cutouts into custom notebook covers, crafting bird-shaped keychains and bag charms, and creating fridge magnets.

Beyond the crafting, it was a day of real connection. Accenture employees engaged directly with Swayam Siddha's trainees, learned about their skills, and visited our artisan stall; taking home handmade products and directly supporting the centre's livelihoods.

Facilitated by our Craftizen team and supported by Swayam Siddha's local coordination, the day reflected exactly what we work toward: team bonding, creative expression, and greater awareness of the talent and craftsmanship of adults with intellectual disabilities.

Thank you to Accenture for engaging so wholeheartedly, and to Swayam Siddha for being wonderful hosts and partners. 🎨🤝

Our Petalists Training of Trainers (ToT) in Hyderabad brought together 15 NGO partners from five districts across Telangana, all working to create meaningful livelihood opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities.🌻

Over the three days, participants learnt to create products including macramé, wax candles, soaps and paper clay, while also building practical skills in costing, packaging, product photography, videography and stall presentation. Every new skill learnt will now travel back to their centres, strengthening vocational programs and creating more sustainable livelihood opportunities. 🖍️🧵🕯️

We also conducted a day of advanced product training for representatives from five NGO partners across Hyderabad, introducing new products and techniques that they can now take back to their centres. 💖🌸

A heartfelt thank you to our CSR partner, LIC Housing Finance Limited, whose continued support helps us equip our NGO partners with the skills, tools and resources needed to create lasting impact. 💙💛

And to every participating NGO partner- thank you for your enthusiasm and shared commitment to championing abilities. 🫶 Together, we're building stronger, more inclusive livelihood ecosystems.
