Right now, the forests of Bhadra Tiger Reserve are buzzing with excitement. The reserve’s newest sensation — the — has been spotted with his family over the past couple of months, creating a wave of excitement among wildlife lovers and photographers.
But Bhadra is so much more than that.
With over 200 bird species, including the beautiful River Tern that migrates from the Himalayas to nest here during April–May, the reserve becomes a paradise for birding and behaviour photography.
Add to that the iconic boat safaris of Bhadra — widely considered among the best in India — along with a healthy leopard population, and every safari becomes a thrilling exploration.
As always with our Silver Holidays, we go a little deeper into the experience: learning about wildlife behaviour, trees, ecosystems, and even the bloodlines of the cats that rule Bhadra.
The journey itself is part of the experience, as we head out on a relaxed road trip from Bangalore in comfortable sedan cars, travelling through the beautiful landscapes of the Western Ghats before entering the forests of Bhadra.

Sunlight on ancient stone. The Khajuraho group of temples simply breathtaking. How beautiful does that Bougainvillea bursting pink against temple spires look?
Cliff edges at Raneh Falls.
Wind in our hair.
Standing small before canyons carved over millions of years. Yes this is our India.
Slow mornings.
Thalis that arrived like celebrations.
“Just taste this” turning into second helpings. Boy, aren’t we foodies! Nothing spells a good holiday like fabulous local cuisine.

Miles covered, stories collected, and we made some unforgettable memories together. 2025 was a beautiful chapter for us Silvers and with many more waiting ahead.

We were never meant to be a travel club. We were simply meant to be an amazing and positive community of like minded seniors over the age of 55. But what happens when you bring a passionate, positive, happy and energetic group of people together? They wish to see the world together! :)
And so what began as 1 absolutely unforgettable holiday to Jungle Retreat in Masinagudi filled with misty mornings, so much laughter at our breakfast table, whispers till wee hours of the morning and waking up to singing songs like Que Sera Sera had our Silver travelers asking for more. So we evolved. Without compromising on the quality, fun and like mindedness of our traveler profile, our Silver Surfer Travel Club has today evolved into a global community of like minded, free spirited and fun Silver Travelers over 55 who share a common passion for Art, Culture, Cuisine and Companions!
From Wine Tours to Food Tours, from Croatia to Egypt to Bhutan and Africa and soon The Northern Lights - no place is too far, too close or too out of reach for our adventurous travelers. Here’s what our holidays are NOT -
We are Not mass holiday planners: Which means we only plan personalized holidays for small groups of our own Travel community members. Our smallest group has been 4 travelers and our largest has been 18 travelers.
Ours are NOT SIC holidays : SIC stands for Seat in Coach where you are one among 30 - 50 travelers in a bus or coach. That is not our style at all. On our holidays we have private cars / busses to accommodate our small and intimate group sizes where all the travelers in the group are fellow members of our travel community and are in all likelihood great friends of yours.
Ours are NOT fast paced holidays : We spend a lot of time planning your holiday for you, ensuring you have easy relaxed starts to each day after a good breakfast. That you get to completely immerse in the culture and vibe in each city without being rushed. That you experience people, places, local food and local culture in every city and country you visit. That in addition to all of that, you have a lot of free time to shop while spend as little time as possible shuttling between places.
Ours are NOT set itineraries that are compulsory to follow : We plan holidays keeping our Silver Traveler’s energy levels, preferences, destinations and interests in mind. Our holidays that are private and exclusively designed for our Silver Travelers have elements and experiences that one can skip if they wish to. Tired of walking tours? No problem, you can give this one a skip and relax by the beach or read a book instead. Definitely don’t want Indian cuisine on a holiday? No problem, we encourage gastronomical journeys of local cuisine in new countries and we find some of the best and most recommended restaurants to try out. However if there is a particular cuisine you wish for, we will ensure we organize it for you.
You Don’t travel with strangers : Yes, you know each and every one of you Silver Travel Companions. We understand it can be really odd to share a room with a stranger, possibly with a different cultural background. And so we are extremely particular about the profile of our travel community. Given that our holidays are designed for our cosmopolitan profile of travelers, you can be rest assured you’re going to make some great travel buddies who share your passion for food, fun and culture when traveling with us.
While we primarily design group holidays for our travel community, we also take on personal travel requests. So in case you would like to travel with your own friends, your own family and have enjoyed our pace of holidays, our selection of hotels and the overall holiday experience we have designed - we will be happy to plan your personal holiday for you!
