Irish Red Cross - Tralee

We are going back to the 1970s for this month's photo of the Irish Red Cross Tralee branch. It is rare to have the names of every person in an archival photo like this, so we are delighted to believe that we are able to identify everyone pictured in this historic photograph:
Front Row (Left to Right): Mrs. Cronin, Kathleen McDonnell,Mary O'Connor, John Lovett.
Back Row – Standing (Left to Right):Anne Scannell, Mary McMahon, Rita Quinlan, Marian Dillane, Helen O'Riordan, and Mary Buckley.
We believe that while some of those pictured have passed away, others in the photo are now married and are probably better known by their married name.
If anyone knows these married ladies, or has any background information on where and why the photograph was taken, please let us know.

𝐀 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬. 𝐀𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮. ❤️

Every month, Irish Red Cross volunteers give 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 helping people and communities across Ireland - responding to emergencies, supporting communities affected by storms and flooding, delivering first aid.

This October, when the clocks go back, we're asking you to use that hour with purpose. Take on 𝐀 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 by walking, running, cycling, dancing, learning, or creating your own challenge, and help raise vital funds for Irish Red Cross volunteers - so they can help you when needed.

⏰ Give an hour.
❤️ Strengthen your community.

We were so proud of our Irish Red Cross Tralee Youth Section in being selected as finalists in Community Youth Section of the Kerry Community Awards which were presented last week.
Great coverage of the event in this week's The Kerryman with lovely photos of our four representatives there. Congratulations to the Sliabh Luachra Boxing Club, Castleisland for winning the award and to Forbairt na Dromoda Teo for winning the overall award. Great credit is due to the organisers and to all the participants who give their free time to the various endeavours that were on show during the night.
