A huge thank you to everyone who made Killarney Select vs Sewanee Tigers such a special occasion.

It was a fantastic night of basketball in the Pres Gym, with a great crowd, a highly entertaining game, and a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish.

Most importantly, the event was a tremendous success in supporting Comfort for Chemo. The generosity shown by players, supporters, and volunteers was truly incredible, helping to raise valuable funds for a very worthy cause.

A special thank you to the Sewanee Tigers for making the trip to Killarney, and to everyone behind the scenes who helped make the event possible.

Basketball has a unique way of bringing people together, and this was a wonderful example of sport supporting the community.

🏀 KILLARNEY BASKETBALL CHARITY SHOWCASE GAME 🇮🇪 🇺🇸
The University of the South (Sewanee Tigers) from Tennessee, USA, are coming to Killarney for a special international charity basketball game!

On Tuesday, 11 August, the Sewanee Tigers will take on a Killarney Select Team, made up of players from Killarney Cougars alongside invited guest players from clubs across Killarney and Kerry.
This unique fixture promises an exciting evening of international basketball while bringing our local basketball community together for a fantastic cause.

💛 Proudly Supporting Comfort for Chemo Kerry

Admission is by voluntary donation, with 100% of donations going to Comfort for Chemo Kerry and their campaign to raise €5 million to build and equip a new purpose-built chemotherapy unit for the people of Kerry.

Their vision is to ensure patients can access high-quality chemotherapy and oncology care closer to home, in a welcoming, comfortable and dignified environment.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help make a real difference for cancer patients and families across Kerry.

A heartfelt thank you to Linda Ryan and her wonderful family for hosting a coffee morning in support of Comfort for Chemo Kerry.
We are incredibly grateful for your kindness, generosity and support.
Linda, a former patient, has generously organised coffee mornings over the years to support charities that helped her throughout her cancer journey. We are truly honoured that she chose Comfort for Chemo Kerry as this year’s beneficiary.
The coffee morning was a tremendous success, raising an amazing €2,455. This incredible contribution will make a real difference to the patients and families we support.
Our sincere thanks go to Linda, her husband Pat, sons Luke and Cian, as well as their fabulous extended family, friends and neighbours who baked, donated, volunteered and attended on the day. Your generosity, community spirit and willingness to help made the morning such a wonderful success.

This week, we congratulate our wonderful Chairperson, Mary Fitzgerald, on her retirement as General Manager of UHK.

Mary founded our charity and has worked tirelessly over the years to advocate for better cancer services for the people of Kerry. Her dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment have made a lasting difference to countless patients and families.

While Mary may be retiring from her role at UHK, we’re delighted to say she won’t be slowing down anytime soon! 🧡We have plenty of plans to keep her busy as we continue our shared mission of ensuring that every cancer patient in Kerry has access to the very best care and services.

Thank you, Mary, for your exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication. We wish you every happiness in this new chapter and look forward to continuing this important journey together.

A heartfelt thank you to Principal Robbie, the 6th Class pupils, and the School Council of Blennerville National School for organising a wonderful Jersey Day in support of Comfort for Chemo Kerry.

A special mention to Mary Kate, whose parents, the O’Shea family, recently presented Mary Horgan and Amanda Coulson with a cheque following their fundraising efforts. Inspired by her family’s generosity, Mary Kate helped organise the Jersey Day, which raised an incredible €410.

We are deeply grateful to everyone involved for their kindness, enthusiasm, and support. The funds raised will make a real difference to those using our services.🧡
