All very excited about the solar eclipse this evening - we would love to see your photos - just think babies born this year will be 64 years old for the next one!

The eclipse begins around 6.10pm, with maximum eclipse about an hour later, varying slightly by location: 7.08pm for Belfast and Sligo, 7.10pm for Galway and Dublin and 7.12pm for Wexford and Cork.

Follow latest as preparations are under way for the first significant solar eclipse visible in Ireland since 1999.
