A little something lovely for our Crocus members this Saturday πŸ’›πŸŽˆ

We’d love you to bring along your family and friends and join us for our Family & Friends Fun Day from 12pm–3pm.

There’ll be food, face painting, games, dancing, action songs and a very special little guest for the children 😊

It’s simply a chance to come together, have a bit of fun and enjoy a few hours with family and friends. And don’t worry about the weather β€” if it doesn’t behave, we’ll bring the fun indoors! β˜”οΈπŸ‘

Everyone is very welcome and we’d love to see you there πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ THE MARTIN McCAUL ANNUAL MEMORIAL RUN πŸ’œ

We are delighted and incredibly grateful to see the Martin McCaul Memorial Run return again this year in support of CROCUS Cancer Support Centre.

What began as a wonderful fundraiser in Martin’s memory has now become an annual event, and the support shown to CROCUS through it means so much to us. Last year was a fantastic day, with people coming together to remember Martin, enjoy the craic and, at the same time, raise vital funds to help us continue supporting local people and families affected by cancer. πŸ’œ

πŸ“… Sunday 6th September
πŸ“ Leaving Scotshouse Village
🏁 Run starts at 2.15pm
🚜 Tractors, vintage cars, lorries and bikes all welcome

There will also be children’s entertainment, face painting, live music, a raffle and plenty happening throughout the day.

Please share this post far and wide and, if you can, come along and support what is always a brilliant community day. Every person who takes part, donates, shares the post or simply comes along to support is helping CROCUS continue the work we do.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the Martin McCaul Memorial Run and for once again choosing to support CROCUS. πŸŒ·πŸ’œ

We hope to see you all there!

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE – PLEASE BE AWARE 🚨

We have been made aware of the poster below circulating on social media advertising a β€œPre-Loved Pop-Up” on 26th September, which uses the CROCUS name and logo and states that profits will be donated to CROCUS.

We want to make it very clear that this event is NOT being organised by, on behalf of, or in association with CROCUS Cancer Support.

CROCUS has not authorised this event or the use of our name/logo in connection with it.

We would therefore ask everyone to please be careful before making any payments, booking tables or sharing the advertisement believing that it is an official CROCUS fundraiser.

If you are ever unsure about an event or fundraiser claiming to be connected with CROCUS, please contact the centre directly and check with us first.

Please share to help make others aware. πŸ’œ

πŸ’› FAMILY WEEKEND AT BARRETSTOWN πŸ’›

Crocus wanted to share this fantastic opportunity for families who may really benefit from a weekend away together.

πŸ“… 9th – 11th October 2026
πŸ“ Barretstown Family Camp

This Therapeutic Recreational Weekend is for families where a parent is currently going through cancer treatment or is in remission following a cancer diagnosis.

Families will stay in comfortable cottage accommodation in the beautiful grounds of Barretstown, with all meals fully catered throughout the weekend.

There will be lots of fun activities for the whole family, including:

🏹 Archery
🐴 Horse riding
πŸ§— Climbing walls
πŸ“Έ Photography
🎭 Drama
✨ And much more, all facilitated by the experienced Barretstown team.

Most importantly, it is a chance for families to spend quality time together, have some fun and connect with other families who truly understand what they are going through. πŸ’›

For single-parent families, Barretstown asks that a second adult β€” such as a grandparent, trusted family member or friend β€” also attends to provide support if needed during the weekend.

πŸ’œ A HUGE THANK YOU πŸ’œ

A massive heartfelt thank you to Marc Clerkin and his fantastic team of local musicians from Monaghan Musicians Against Cancer, and to McKenna’s Bar, Monaghan, for their incredible support of Crocus.
