Today marked the last day of Buggie Buddies before we take a break for the summer.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the ladies from Womens Collective Ireland-Monaghan -Dochas for Women who joined us throughout the programme, always bringing a friendly face, a warm welcome, and a listening ear.

A special thanks to all the staff in Castleblayney Library and Monaghan Town Library for providing the space and refreshments for this group each week. Nothing beats a warm cuppa in a beautiful setting!

We hope that all the parents who attended over the past number of weeks gained something from the experience. Each week I dropped in to say hello, and everyone was always so friendly, welcoming, and supportive of one another. This is what it's all about, because parenting is tough enough as it is, and having a community around you can make all the difference.

Today's session sparked a lovely conversation about staying connected over the summer. One of the parents kindly volunteered to set up a WhatsApp group to help organise walks and meet-ups during the break. If you would like to be a part of this please get in touch.

Thank you to everyone who joined us over the weeks. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and watching this community grow.

As the saying goes, it's not goodbye, it's see you later! We look forward to welcoming you back after the summer break. Until then, have a wonderful summer and keep an eye out for upcoming events and activities.

Brain development starts not long after conception and these incredible developments continue to take place up until you child is 5 years old.
This short video clip looks at how a baby's brain develops: https://youtu.be/R0fiu2S0_3M

What happens during this period of development is very complex but the good news is what you as a parent can do to support it is quite simple.

Your child’s brain develops best when they are:
🤩healthy and well nourished
🤩in a healthy routine - for example feeding, sleeping, cuddles, reading together and bath time
🤩protected from stress or neglect
🤩with a caregiver who shows them love and attention
🤩playing and exploring safely

❤️Parents Plus Special Needs Programme❤️

Parenting Monaghan were delighted to welcome 8 parents to our recent Special Needs Programme. Over the weeks, parents shared experiences, supported one another, and took time to reflect on their family journeys in a warm and welcoming environment.

We were pleased to welcome Conor from Monaghan Autism Friendly, whose informal talk inspired and encouraged parents. Many shared that hearing his story gave them hope and reminded them that anything is possible.

Parents described the group as a place where they felt accepted, understood, and free from judgement. They spoke about leaving the programme with renewed confidence, a different perspective, and the comfort of knowing they are not alone. ❤️
