Monaghan Migrant Support Centre 🇪🇺🇨🇮 Week 6 of our volunteer workshop at St.Macartan's College continues to showcase the power of community, teamwork, and shared purpose.

This week, Men's group focused on painting, helping to refresh and brighten the college environment while working together with great enthusiasm and dedication. The team from Monaghan Connect for Men once again demonstrated incredible commitment, supporting one another and taking pride in every task completed.

Each week brings visible progress, stronger connections, and positive energy. The transformation of the space reflects the hard work, dedication, and community spirit of all the volunteers involved.

🥋 Certificate of Participation Ceremony 🥋

We are proud to share highlights from our Certificate of Participation Ceremony, celebrating the men who successfully completed our Self-Defense and Jiu-Jitsu training sessions.

This event was made possible with the support of Monaghan Migrant Support Centre 🇪🇺🇨🇮, helping to provide to Monaghan Connect for Men with the opportunity to learn valuable self-defense techniques in a positive and supportive environment.

Special thanks to coach Leo Rainho, Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Strengh and Honor BJJ, for his dedication, expertise, and commitment in delivering these training sessions.

Dzintra McConnon is a great person, kind, never stays aside people’s problem in everyday life and in emergency situations. It is a happy coincide that Dzintra and the group of the lake swimmers were around and could help the boy! This is so important to pay attention to what is around you, notice it and take an action to help. Thank you Dzintra and all involved savers!! God blesses you all! 🙏

With this heat there is a big temptation to go to a lacke, please, do it safely!!
Don’t go too far, don’t go along, don’t get into the water after drinking, don’t pretend you have troubles in the water just messing around. Stay safe!!

Sew Much More (supported by SICAP 🇪🇺🇨🇮) took part in Monaghan Has It event on Saturday 23rd of May.

It was a great opportunity for the group to show their work, attract attention of the visitors and promote up cycling initiatives.

As a very proud moment for the group was meeting with the local authorities and having the opportunity to demonstrate their work and get some encouragement. Monaghan County Council

Thank you Dalia and Roxy for volunteering to represent the group.

The next big event for the group will be with Create! Festival, so please come and support the group if you are around.

💛 Volunteer Week 💛

Volunteer Week is a great reminder that everybody has something valuable they can share with others.

💚A very special thank you to the Monaghan Volunteer Centre for continuous support, guidance, and encouragement. This work helps volunteers feel supported, connected, and valued while creating opportunities for meaningful community involvement.

At the Migrant Support Centre, we are proud to support volunteering in many different forms and create opportunities for people with different skills, experiences, and backgrounds to contribute to the local community 🌍

This week, we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all volunteers involved in the activities supported by SICAP 🙌

Around 30 volunteers across four towns in County Monaghan are helping people improve one of the most important skills — language and communication 💬

for their hard work and support with practical projects, including the current greenhouse project
in St. Macartan’s College.

👩 Women’s Group volunteers
for helping organise the Donation Day and Women’s Information Event

🎨 Little Cosmos volunteers
for supporting children’s camps and activities

for sharing sewing and upcycling skills with new members and helping people learn valuable practical skills

We are especially happy to see so many members of migrant communities willing to contribute, share their knowledge, and become an active part of the society🤝
