Monaghan Volunteer Centre It was established in 2006 by Monaghan Integrated Development. Monaghan Volunteer Centre was established in 2006 by Monaghan Integrated Development (MID).

Monaghan Volunteer Centre's role is to support non-profit organisations, promote volunteering and connect people thinking about volunteering with suitable roles in non-profit organisations. Monaghan Volunteer Centre Vision Statement

Our role is to support voluntary organisations, promote volunteering and connect people thinking about volunteering with suitable roles in local or national voluntary organisations. MID is a Government funded Local Development Company. MID delivers programmes which support specific target groups to bring positive change to their lives. The Volunteer Centre is one of the programmes that MID delivers. Our Charity Registration Number is 20071486. In 2009 Monaghan Volunteer Centre became affiliated with Volunteer Ireland, the national volunteer development agency. Today Monaghan Volunteer Centre is part of a network which includes 21 Volunteer Centres and 7 Volunteer Information Services

🏃‍♀️ Sanctuary Runners are coming to Dun a Rí Forest Park, Kingscourt! 🚶‍♂️

Starting this Saturday, 17th October, Sanctuary Runners will be bringing people together for regular runs and walks in Dun a Rí every second Saturday morning.

It’s all about getting active and meeting people in a relaxed, welcoming environment. You don’t have to be a runner, and you don’t have to be fast. Just come along, enjoy the walk or run, and get to know others in your community.

🙌 We’re also looking for volunteers!
- We need people to help co-ordinate and lead the sessions, making sure everyone feels welcome and gets involved.

Monaghan - whether it's running the sports club or shopping for a neighbour, we want to know. Volunteers of all kinds can complete the survey at https://research.bpact.be/IVI

Sanctuary Runners Ireland are launching in Dun a Ri Forest Park!! We are looking for people from Carrickmacross, Kingscourt, Shercock snd surrounding areas to get out for a fortnightly community run/walk Saturday mornings in this beautiful park, and we are also looking for volunteers to help co ordinate and lead the runs and walks. 🏆 VOLUNTEER LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2026

Congratulations to Clare McElroy, winner of the Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award! 👏

Clare McElroy has volunteered with Castleblayney Community Games for more than 35 years. She has held leadership roles at area, county and national level and continues to support children taking part in athletics, quizzes, art, handwriting, modelling and other events. Clare also helps raise funds so that entry fees can be covered, ensuring that children from the area have the opportunity to participate.

Congratulations to the Silver Birch Brownies Leadership Team, our Volunteer Team of the Year! 👏

The Silver Birch Brownies leadership team includes Miriam Moore, Mary McDonnell, Mel Gibson, Orlagh McDonnell, Laura Mulholland and Ann Breen. Some members have been part of the team for 40 years. Together, they have empowered generations of girls to build vital confidence and lifelong friendships. From managing weekly meetings to organizing magical, top-secret mystery trips to London, these dedicated leaders consistently bring joy, adventure, and skill-building opportunities to girls in the Clones area.

❤️ A SPECIAL RECOGNITION FOR KIERAN ROCHE

At this year’s County Monaghan Volunteer Awards, we were honoured to present a plaque to Irene Roche in recognition of her late husband Kieran’s contribution to Carrickmacross.

Kieran served as Chair of Carrickmacross Tidy Town Committee for most of the last decade, dedicating much of his retirement to improving his hometown. His hard work and commitment helped Carrickmacross achieve great success in the national Tidy Towns competition.

Kieran gave so much of his time to his community, and his contribution will be remembered for years to come.

We were delighted to present Irene with this plaque in recognition of all Kieran did for Carrickmacross. ❤️

Congratulations to SMART: South Monaghan Autism Resource Team, our Volunteer Group of the Year! 👏

SMART: South Monaghan Autism Resource Team was established in 2022, following on from the original MAPS group set up by local parents in 2013. SMART now supports more than 50 families, with children and young people aged from 3 to 21. Organising camps, swimming sessions, music therapy, and an invaluable parent support network, SMART acts as a vital one-stop shop for advice and community, giving a huge boost to parents.
