A huge congratulations to everyone involved in helping Monaghan Town achieve an outstanding 2nd place ranking in the latest IBAL National Litter League!!

Well done to Monaghan County Council, the dedicated volunteers of Monaghan Tidy Towns, led by Emer Brennan, and all members of the public who take pride in keeping Monaghan town clean and tidy.

This fantastic achievement shows what can be accomplished when a community works together. 🙌

Border Bounce Gymnastics Club is a community run, not for profit gymnastics club in Monaghan Town. One of the programmes they offer is special gymnastics sessions adapted to suit children with autism. Qualified gymnastics coaches work with children individually or in small groups. They would like to recruit a volunteer to assist with these classes. The volunteer does not need any gymnastics experience. This volunteer will support the children with autism and provide extra supervision.

Sessions usually take place on weekday afternoons after school or on Saturdays. Previous experience of autistic children would be helpful - this could be in your paid work, volunteering, family or community. But experience is not essential - the most important thing is that you are patient and understanding of autistic children and willing to encourage and support them to take part in classes.

St. Vincent de Paul Monaghan Branch would like to hear from someone willing to drive a patient from his home in Monaghan Town to hospital appointments in Navan three times a year.

They have plenty of notice of appointment date (about 3 months). Appointments are Monday to Friday and can be either morning or afternoon. The patient is mobile and does not need help in and out of the car. He has limited English.

The next appointment is 16th June - an existing SVP volunteer will drive the patient to that one but would like a new volunteer to go with her and the patient and be ready to do the next appointment.

If you might be interested but have questions feel free to contact Sinéad Keenan at Monaghan Volunteer Centre at 087 4173944 or [email protected]
