Back to school is just around the corner, so we're urging all motorists to take care on the roads, particularly near schools and in built up areas.

Be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists, we all share the road.

We'd ask parents to ensure that your child is visible when walking or cycling to school, and if you're driving always make sure everyone has put on their seat belts.

Cuimhnigh, tóg go bog é agus tiomáin go cúramach.

Highest temperatures are expected today in the West. The long-range forecast is predicting the dry spell to continue with noticeably lower temperatures in the coming day; however, temperatures are expected to possibly breach 30 degrees tomorrow in localised areas. It’s natural to be curious during emergencies but please, put the camera away. If you witness a medical emergency or accident, please respect the privacy both patients and our team.

Instead, offer help if you can, give space to emergency responders and allow us to do our job.

On behalf of Claremorris South Responder Group, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Gilligan's Bar, Wardes Bar, and The Lighthouse Diner for their incredible support through their recycling fundraising scheme.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of these local businesses, the funds raised have successfully enabled us to purchase another lifesaving defibrillator for our community. This defibrillator will be carried and operated by one of our mobile responders, helping us continue to provide vital emergency care when it is needed most.

We are especially proud to name this defibrillator "Gilly's". With the family logo and Martin's signature displayed on its outer case, it serves as a lasting reminder of the kindness, generosity, and community spirit that made this possible. It is made even more special by the fact that Martin himself was a first responder, someone who understood the importance of being there when people needed help most.
Naming this defibrillator in his honour is a fitting tribute to his legacy of service and care for others.

Every time this defibrillator is carried by our mobile responder and every time it is called into action, a part of Martin's spirit, and the support of his family and our community, goes with it.

From all of us at Claremorris South Responder Group, and on behalf of the many people whose lives may one day be touched by this equipment, thank you. Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for standing behind our voluntary group ❤️
