Claremorris No Name Club

After 27 incredible consecutive years, Claremorris No Name Club has made the difficult decision to temporarily close for the 2026/2027 year. Unfortunately, we will not be accepting registrations or operating the Club during this period.

While this is a difficult decision, we are choosing to view it as an opportunity to take a pause, reset and plan for an exciting new chapter for Claremorris No Name.

Over the past 27 years, our Club has provided a place for young people to connect, make friends and create lasting memories, continuing even through the challenging Covid years. We are incredibly proud of this legacy and grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey.

Our adult volunteers remain committed to the future of the Club, and we hope to return in 2027/2028 with renewed energy, exciting plans and, hopefully, a new clubhouse within the town.

This is a pause, not a goodbye! We have big hopes for the future and look forward to welcoming back familiar faces and new members when registrations reopen.

Claremorris No Name Club are sad to announce that after 14 wonderful years at our base on James Street we are having to close our clubhouse. This is due to the pending sale of the premises.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our landlords Noel and Patricia Riordan for all their help and generosity in providing us with a centre to operate out of and a place where hundreds of young people of Claremorris have been able to gather, interact grow and develop in a safe and friendly environment over the last decade and a half. On behalf of them and the dozen or so adult volunteers (without whom the club would have never survived) we offer them our heartfelt thanks.

We are not closing down for good. At present we are recruiting for the 2026 2027 year through the transition year classes in St Colmans College and Mount St Michael Secondary School and will be using temporary meeting places within the town while we look for a new home.

The No Name Club has been involved in Claremorris for over 25 years and we hope to stay involved as a resource of the youth of South Mayo for many years to go.

The very best of luck to Claremorris Garda John Monaghan, also a long-time leader with Claremorris No Name Club, is taking on a charity cycle in memory of his “Little Blue Buddy,” three-year-old Saoirse Duggan, on the first anniversary of her passing.

On Saturday, June 20, he will complete the “Chase the Sun” Challenge, cycling 340km from Belfast to Enniscrone between sunrise and sunset. The event, named “Saoirse’s Sunshine Cycle,” is raising funds for the Little Blue Heroes Foundation.

Saoirse, from Claremorris, passed away last year after bravely battling leukaemia. She was remembered as a bright, joyful child whose warmth deeply touched all who knew her, and she shared a special bond with John through Little Blue Heroes.

We are extremely grateful to receive funding once again this year through the Community Fund. This contribution goes a long way towards helping with the running of the club and ensuring we can continue to provide opportunities and activities for our members.

On the 20th of June 2026 our very own Johnny Monaghan is taking part in a charity cycle in memory of Saoirse Duggan. Saoirse was a 3yr old girl from Claremorris who unfortunately passed away in June 2025 from Leukaemia. Saoirse was an Honoury Garda in Little Blue Heroes and was Johnny’s blue buddy.

Johnny is taking part in Chase The Sun, an International event. He will start his Cycle at sunrise (04.45hrs) from Belfast and he has to chase the sun for the day and arrive in Enniscrone by sunset (22.15hrs). This will be a total of 340km in the one sitting.

It’s been a whirlwind of a week! ✨

Last weekend, we attended the National Youth Awards as a club, with the lovely Simona representing us and to nobody’s surprise, she came home with the award for Host of the Year alongside the equally deserving Tegan from Finglas No Name Club 🏆

It was a brilliant night and we couldn’t be prouder of Simona. From the very beginning, we knew she would be a fantastic representative for our club and she absolutely proved that.

Simona, we hope you’re enjoying all the celebrations and recognition coming your way, you truly deserve it! 💙
