This year is extra special — we'll be officially launching our new bike and van on the day. Come along and see them up close.

Every euro raised keeps our volunteer riders on the road, moving blood, samples and vital medical supplies across the North West, free of charge, day and night.

Some deliveries take more than one team to get the job done.

Blood Bike West volunteer Anthony transported vital laboratory supplies from University Hospital Galway, where they were handed over to our colleagues at Blood Bike North West for the final leg of the journey to Letterkenny University Hospital.

It's a great example of volunteer organisations working seamlessly together, ensuring important medical supplies reach their destination safely and efficiently.

A huge thank you to Anthony and the Blood Bike North West team for another successful collaboration.

Let’s put to rest for good the false assumptions that bottle-feeding is “easier” for preemies than breastfeeding.
According to this 2026 RCT, at their first feeding by mouth, preemies breastfed had measurably better oxygen levels and heart rates compared with those whose first oral feed was by bottle. The breastfed preemies even took more milk!

Andy Parkinson was on call this beautiful July evening. First time run on the new BMW.
Collection from St James by Blood Bikes East, CuChulainn CCBB Blood Bikes then took over and met Andy in Augnacloy, medicine then delivered to surgical 2 in University hospital Letterkenny.
Thanks to Andrew for coordinating along with the other coordinators, and all the riders involved.
