What a wonderful day Donegal Local Development CLG (DLDC) had in Carndonagh 🍅

A huge thank you to Saothrú Nursery & Garden Centre for hosting an action-packed day featuring a farmers’ market, live cooking demonstrations, local producers, crafters, and fun activities for the kids.

Our Food Equality Initiative team was delighted to be there, chatting with the community and sharing information about the programme. A special thanks to Gary McPeak for a fantastic cooking demonstration that had everyone's mouths watering!

From vibrant, fresh local produce to simple ideas for turning it into delicious homemade meals, it was a wonderful showcase of home cooking 🥘

The Food Equality Initiative is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Today marked the start of Donegal Local Development CLG’s Climate Conversations 🌏

Through these conversations, DLDC aims to identify the learning and development needs of community groups, helping them become more climate aware and ultimately create more climate positive communities.

It was encouraging to hear about the initiatives and actions that groups and organisations have already implemented. While positive steps are being taken, additional support is needed.

DLDC will use these insights to tailor future education and training opportunities to respond to the needs identified through the conversations.

Thank you to Mary Mulvey and Bridgette Brew who are facilitating the sessions.

Thank you, Dunfanaghy Golf Club ⛳

A huge thank you to Dunfanaghy Golf Club for their generous donation to the Donegal Food Response Network (DFRN).

As part of Lady Captain’s Day, Amanda Witherow kindly requested donations in support of DFRN. The generosity was evident today as we visited the club to collect donations.

🏌️‍♀️ An open mixed four ball waltz competition will take place on September 5th at Dunfanaghy Golf Club with proceeds going to DFRN.

DFRN is made up of 21 community and voluntary organisations across Donegal, delivering over 100,600 food packages annually to families and individuals.

DFRN was established by Donegal Local Development CLG (DLDC) to support community and voluntary organisations tackling food poverty in Donegal.
