🇪🇺✨ Representing Donegal in Brussels ✨🇪🇺
Recently, young people from Donegal Youth Service and Arranmore Island travelled to Brussels to take part in the ATLIC Legacy Event, joining young people from across the Atlantic Area to celebrate achievements, share experiences, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for our young people to engage with European institutions, exchange ideas with peers from different countries, and ensure that the voices of young people from rural and island communities are heard at a European level.
During their time in Brussels, the group also had the privilege of meeting with Kathleen Funchion and Nina Carberry at the European Parliament. These meetings gave our young people the opportunity to showcase the work carried out through the ATLIC project, discuss the impact of youth participation, and share their hopes and ambitions for the future.
We would like to sincerely thank both MEPs for their time, encouragement, and commitment to listening to young people and supporting youth engagement across Europe.
Experiences like these empower young people to build confidence, develop new skills, and recognise the value of their voices in shaping their communities and beyond.
A fantastic few days filled with learning, new connections, and memories to last a lifetime. 🌍💙
